A little frayed around the edges but still kicking

Posted Mar 5, 2014 on Hotels.com
We really enjoyed this 'apartment' for our stay in Ocho Rios. The staff and security were friendly, the location was, while not central, very conveniently located, the pool was clean and the grounds were nicely maintained. The on-premise restaurant/bar served good, reasonably-priced food in an outdoor environment, the wait and bar staff were very friendly and there was free (secured) WiFi.

A truly pleasant stay

Posted Feb 27, 2014
Pros: The comfort of the room and its location.
Cons: not much.
I had been to Ocho Rios several times but never to this hotel and what a pleasant discovery it was. The staff is extremely friendly, the location is excellent, within walking distance of every thing, the room was comfortable, the location safe, and the price was truly reasonable. I will recommend this place to friends, if I may well return there myself in the future.

This hotel has potential but it is badly in need of a real upgrade. no internet in rooms, no food on compound, no entertainment on compound, swimming pool unkept, smelly rooms, limited bath room ammenities, (not enough towels, toilet paper, wash rags worse case sinerio of a third world country hotel). They should close the facility down and have a total rennovation. The location is ideal being on the beach however it appears as if they are not allowed to access the beach as there were places set aside on the beach for other hotels (jamaica Grand etc. and no place for visitors of this hotel. I felt like an intruder when I tried to use the beach. Its a shame that this hotel is occupying prime location in Ocho Rios. It should be totally revamped taken over by new management who are trained and know how to operate a decent facility. On a scale of 1-10 this hotel score a Zero. They should pay me to stay at this hotel. My money should be returned. This ruined my trip to Jamaica. Had I known the conditions prior to booking I would never have booked this hotel.

Very disappointing

Posted Jan 10, 2014 on Hotels.com
This hotel was not cheap!! However the facilities were below par. There was no telephone in the room so no way to get a hold of the front desk without walking over and if it was late at night, very inconvenient. The appliances were old and some did not work. The bathroom was outdated and at times did not work well. I would never return to this place and would not recommend it to anyone.

needs upgrade.

Hotel rooms in need of upgrade, no towels or wash cloth in bath room, most uncomfortable bed I've ever slept in. They didn't even have my reservation, no computer at front desk. Take my advice, pay extra $10/$20 and go somewhere else.

Efficiency unit close to the beach

Posted Dec 21, 2013
Pros: The hotel is well located, close to beach and within walking distance to the centre of town, shopping, restaurants, entertainment, etc.
Cons: It would be ideal if the units could be equipped with telephones and Wi Fi. There should be a check list to ensure that all equipment is working.
Location: Ideally located near the centre of town, shopping (supermarkets - there are kitchen facilities in case you want to do your own cooking), also the beac
The overall experience was fairly pleasant, however there were a number of shortcomings which reflected a certain lack of professionalism in the way operations were carried out. On our confirmed booking we were promised a queen sized bed. What was supplied was smaller than a double. The explanation that the owner (the units are individually owned) was a tiny five foot tall woman who probably thought the bed was big enough, might bring a slight chuckle but is not very funny to a client paying top dollar. During our stay there was apparently a problem with the general laundry. The result was that for two days our towels were not changed and for about six hours we had no towels at all. The TV remote did not work on arrival. After two days it was replaced by one that did. All the time the staff were very understanding, courteous, and offered any explanation or excuse they could. It just seemed that the real decision makers / problem solvers were unavailable.

Where are the towels!!!

front desk was nice, very helpful and I love Nigal he is a sweetheart. But for the room OMG!! the sitting room was nice, but the floors were dirty very old and over used furniture. The kitchen was sad there was almost nothing that was usable, the frig didn't close leaked water all over the floor, the thing was at least 40yrs old and that's being nice!, the entire kitchen needed to be remodeled. The bed in the bedroom had defiantly seen better days it was like sleeping on a full size cot, the bathroom was a wow! rust all the way round the tub cigarette burns on the toilet and shower curtain I arrive on a Thursday we had 2 bath towels nothing else tried to get clean towels the following day and was toll the laundry didn't come and so I had to wash the 2 I had myself ,Saturday was better, came back room was clean and 2full sets of towels ,next day same problem. Had to go back to the front desk twice before I could get two clean bath towels I don't even know why hotel.com even carry these condos

Fisherman's Point

We were happy with the fact that it had a kitchen and was like an apartment since we had a child with us, we were able to prepare breakfast and were able.to keep some drinks and snacks on hand. The pool could have been maintained better but overall we were happy and would stay there again.

Cons: YES IMPROVEMENTS ARE NEEDED, AIR CONDITIONING, PAY PHONE/PHONE NEEDED, NEED ACTIVITIES ON THE PREMISES (EXERCISE ROOM, SWIMMING LESSONS, COOKING EVENT
Location: MANY THINGS TO DO IN THE AREA
THE LOCATION IS GREAT, WITHIN WALKING DISTANCE TO CLUBS, SHOPS, STORES, ETC. STAFF WAS VERY FRIENDLY, ROOMS NEED UPDATING, SMALL BUG PROBLEM. NO BAR OR RESTAURANT ON PREMISES. YES, I WOULD STAY THERE AGAIN BECAUSE OF THE LOCATION AND STAFF
