Can't wait to go backPosted Sep 13, 2013
Pros: How well it was maintained and the wonderful staff.
Location: We went on a tour of the Rose Hall Great House - at night. Highly recommended!
We went during labor day week. It wasn't too crowded at all. The hotel is beautiful, the grounds and pools are maintained constantly. The beach areas were raked every morning. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. Even the groundskeepers would take a bit of time out to talk with you about the area, etc. I can't recommend it enough. We never had to wait to be seated for meals. The dining staff was always solicitous and warm. The front desk was always helpful. Just a perfect setting for a relaxing vacation.

The beach was murky and rocky, very disappointing.Posted Sep 13, 2013
Pros: The staff was friendly.
The food was sometimes not at the proper temperature and not much of a variety. The entertainment was subpar, and was over by10:30. Therefore if you wanted entertainment you had to leave the resort. That definitely needs improvement.

Nice vacationPosted Sep 10, 2013
Nice well maintained facilities for the most part, food was average. Room was clean and spacious well we paid for a suite upgrade....it should be. Lots of kids everywhere...yes we have two pre-teens ourselves. My 11 year old found a glass in the pool...and I'm not talking about a plastic one. (There were lots of those too). Not sure i can Blame the staff for that one...fortunately it wasn't a broken glass. Good for a few days break...but not for longer as you can only swim around the lazy river and play ping-ping for so long.

Good hotel with friendly staffPosted Sep 10, 2013
Pros: staff, drinks
Cons: buffet food.
Overall was satisfactory. Had a great staff and good food for the most part. The rooms could have been a bit more updated and clean, but a good deal so can't complain. The beach itself is very small so mostly hung around the resort. I'd recommend making reservations to the finer dining options as the main buffet is average food.

Great hotel for the familyPosted Sep 7, 2013
Pros: Water park for the kids Cleanliness of whole property Friendliness of staff Quality of the food
Cons: Rooms that are better set up for families - not a lot of privacy now Thought prices for spa and tours were ridiculously high
Location: Located on the beach and next to golf course. For activities you need to take taxi or book tour.
Needed some relaxation and decided to book last minute. Did quite some research and choose for the Hilton resort. With two young girls (7 and 9) the water park was great. They enjoyed it a lot and could play all day in it. Not dangerous at all, so you could let the kids play on their own and fun enough too keep the girls engaged. There is a lot to do for the kids, the entertainment team is great. Very energizing, fun, happy and active. Even at the end of the season their enthusiasm is still if it was their first week on the job. Kamar and colleagues are a great example for how you need create some fun and make it special. Food was good. Buffet restaurant had daily different themes so nice variety. Three specialty restaurants did a good job as well. I have read that some people felt pressure for tipping. didn't really experience it that way. On the other hand, after I asked a taxi driver to drive us around and show how the local people live, it became clear to me how much poverty there is in Jamaica. with salaries sometimes as low as $40 a week it puts tipping in a different perspective. They kept the property and rooms really clean and staff was really nice. Would have loved to have a room with sort of separation from where the kids sleep, but also not a huge deal for us (otherwise I would have not booked it). Beach was bit tricky since it has some rocks when you go in, but nice to do some snorkelling. All in all great experience!

Great for young families and grandparentsPosted Sep 7, 2013
Pros: the food and warm friendly staff, rooms
Cons: Have another space for adults only for some dancing and drinking like a night club atmosphere. No kids should be in a bar; no toddlers running aroun
Location: The location is great and 10 to 15 minutes away from airport, we did not leave the resort everything was right there for us.
From the moment we got our baggage, ground transportation was there waiting for us to whisk us off to the Hilton Rose nice job Expedia. Once in the lobby we were warmly greeted and did not have to wait to register; we arrived early like 10 AM and our room was ready, I asked for a top floor and we got it. Our room was nice and we got a big partial view of the sea. This hotel is super clean, there are no trash receptacles around I mean clean. The wait staff were very hospitable. Each restaurant we dined at, the waiters were on point describing each course in detail. Even though you don't have to tip, my husband did like $2.00 each time we ordered and that includes the bartenders as well. Going as a middle aged couple we thought we can do some night dancing; not the case there were children at the nightly entertainment center and one night they had Sponge Bob night. Oh well if we wanted to dance it has to be done before the show but we were dining. They did play some jazz but for about 30 minutes then it over to family night.

Great Hotel with excellent customer servicePosted Sep 5, 2013
Pros: Friendly and courteous staff
Cons: nothing at this time to note
Location: Great, went to Nigril seven mile beach in west end and Rick's Cafe, Duns River Falls, Glissing Waters in Falmouth.
From the minute we walked in until the time we left the service was excellent. i celebrated my 60th birthday party with over 33 guest from New York, there was not one bad review. Housekeeping excellent, food and accommodating special needs were met and all with a friendly smile. We will always make this one of our favorite places to stay, CONGRATULATIONS to all.

The ocean is the star of this hotel.Posted Sep 4, 2013
Pros: We stayed in a beautiful room, #700, with an awesome ocean view.
Cons: General maintenance: rusted railings, ripped cabana fabric, etc. Food is low quality, ill prepared and perpetually cold! Customer service inadequate.
Location: The Far Out Fish Hut just down the road; 2 lobsters, a ton of shrimp and a snapper ($67 US) quenched our cravings for grilled fresh seafood.
The hotel is a convenient to the airport and has a lot of potential. Unfortunately, not enough attention is paid to the details and the food, customer service and general maintenance need upgrading. Those are large categories that could ruin someone's vacation. On the other hand, the ocean, pool, amenities and view make up what the Hilton is lacking. We only left to find pleasing meals (even though it was an all-inclusive) and spent the rest of the time enjoying the sea and sunshine!

GREAT vacation!Posted Sep 4, 2013
Pros: Wonderful for Family vacation...! I loved the jerk chicken! I ate in a lot of different restaurants and this hotel has the best jerk chicken!
The only thing I didn't like about this resort was the beach, the water is not crystal clear. But....! if you are up for the adventure...if you walk pass the golf course...it is rocky but beautiful water! great snorkeling....LOVED it. Everything about this ressort was wonderful...highly recommend it.
