“Amazing time in Paradise”
From the time we arrived at the Iberostar Grand, we were treated like royalty. We had a very smooth check-in and were then given glasses of champagne and taken to our room. The room was spacious and private with a beautiful, large balcony, with a couch and hanging wicker chair and had a beautiful oceanview (although not oceanfront - that is an upgrade). It was located on the west side of the resort with a beautiful view of the sunset every evening. We had a wonderful butler who provided us with anything we needed. The food was good and plentiful. It was hard to get reservations at the times we preferred, but we were still able to eat at the restaurants we wanted. There are also 2 other Iberostar hotels right next to the Grand, and we had access to all of them (although, they did not have access to the Grand). The pools were beautiful and well kept. There was plenty of space to lounge around and plenty of towels. Before we left for Jamaica, we were told that all-inclusives usually give you very small drinks and that you have to frequently go back for more... that was not our experience at all. At the Iberostar Grand, the drinks were a great size and there was always someone around to get you more if you wanted it. This was our first experience with an all-inclusive, and we were absolutely satisfied. We would recommend this place to anyone and plan on going back in the (hopefully near) future.
“Eager to please”
the staff could not have been more eager to please and friendly. The food was good altho striving to present a more "elegant" dining experience was often at odds with the food. More simply prepared and fresh dishes such as grilled vegetables and fish would have been warmly received. All jamacian dishes were excellent. Our room was phenomenal, large, and looked over the ocean happily thru a free upgrade. The all inclusive alcohol was totally top notch, brand name high end. My only complaint was that the swimming on the beach was restricted by buoys that I found very limiting. All in all, an enjoyable get away with a ton of entertainment and activites, almost a cruise ship feel menat in the best sense
“Second Time @ Resort”
fifth time in Montego Bay. Short ride 20 minutes or less. Front Desk full of personality and quick process. Bellman extremely courteous, and friendly. Grounds always attended to and beach combed more than once a day. Soft sand with little notice of shells/pebbles. Sunscreen and books at the pool as gratis. More than enough staff to handle any of your needs. Lunch buffet at the beach was never hurried and took advantage of wine/shrimp and other specialties (we call it the twos' 2 hr lunch with 2 bottles of wine and 2 lbs of shrimp). Did not take advantage of entertainment. Food at restaurants very good w/Japanese the best. Friendly professional staff from all points of their respective duties. Took Alrick transportation and was also extremely satisfied.
“Would return”
Our overall experience was very good. However, the "Butler" we were supposed to have did not make an effort to do his job. We were told at check-in that our "Butler" would be sent to our room to help us with restaurant reservations, etc. but he never showed up. We got tired of waiting and made our own reservations. Needless to say he did not receive a tip. Also there was a big issue concerning saving lounge chairs by the pool and beach. Guests would throw towels and personal belongings on the chairs in the early morning hours and would not show up until the afternoon to claim them or not even show up. There was a sign stating chairs were not to be saved but no one paid any attention. Something needs to be done about this. Otherwise everything else was great. The specialty restaurants were very outstanding. We would return again in the future.
“Not happy with Butler and Food”
Too many salads and food mixed together with mayonnaise. Butler promises things and never returns. Much confusion with greeting, room availability, restaurant availability, restaurant bookings that were incorrect, printing of boarding passes for departure, limo seats at poll or beach available, lousy wine.
“Wonderful experience!”
Iberostar grand rose hotel defintely exceeded by expectations. It was 20 min away from airport, the hotel was very clean, big room with balcony, choice of pillows, personal butler, available movie dvds, free bottle service to room, etc. The grounds of the hotel are gorgeuos, beach is great some seaweed but nothing to complain about. The dinner restaurants are defintely 5 star. All the bars have top shelf alcohol (grey goose, belvedere, black label, henessey) I would recomend going to the resturants over the dinner buffet. We also enjoyed the spa, its all inclusive in terms of sauna, jacuzzi, roman baths, and co-ed wellness pool. The servicde is also superb!
“AMAZING SERVICE!”
While I consider myself well traveled I have to say the service is outstanding! I seen better beaches ... a lot better and you will notice a few cracks around the hotel but the service is incredible. You will not be disappointed just make sure to take some singles they don't ask for tips but you will want to tip.
“Jamaica's best resort”
We stayed at Iberostar Grand Hotel from 11/11/11 to 11/17/11. The hotel was not packed so that was nice. It was a short drive from the airport. We were surprised with an upgrade to an ocean view room. The room was clean and spacious. The service at the pool was great. The beach was nice, plenty of chairs. The ocean bottom was soft and sandy, not rocky like I have seen in some places. It was our 2nd time staying in Jamaica. I got my hair braided at the Spa. This resort has 4 restaurants. Make reservations early or you end up going to the buffet for dinner. The food was good and you had many choices. The drinks were top shelf. If you don't want Appleton rum then you have to tell the bartender. I would recommend this hotel to anyone that wants to have a great time in Jamaica.
“I am ready to go back in a moment”
everything was excellent! Food, room, ocean, pools, people - all the best. I can't figure out any negatives moments during our vacation. We will be back for sure!
“medical vacation”
My wife and I went to the Iberostar Grand between 11/2 and 11/8 in advance of some pretty gruesome medical stuff going on and were in need of a true vacation/escape. The Grand delivered and for two big reasons: happy servce and great food. Happy service: This was our first all inclusive and our first stay that included a butler and my inner backpacker was a little concerned/uncomfortable. That said the enthusiasm, friendliness, and real joy the service staff makes it easy to let them make your stay as comfy as possible without feeling bad. Great food: There was some initial confusion about what restaurants were open and when and my suggestion is this: book your dinners as soon as you arrive. We went to Surf and Turf, Gourmet(Frenchish), The Japanese place, The Italian place, and then had one dinner at one of the buffets. For lunch we always ate at the buffet and I'm still not sure if there's any other option--they did have beach bbq some days. For breakfast we were always at the buffet. The buffet is great and didn't get old for us and we're pretty picky and discerning. Had we stayed for more than a week it would probably get a little tired but what wouldn't? My wife and I were very satisfied in the food dept. Of course the rooms are nice and well maintained and there are many other reasons to like the Grand but the above two stood out. The Grand is beside two other Iberostar properties and it's nice to be able to walk the long beach
