There is nothing good to say about this place. They stole our money. Due to Covid we had to postpone our trip. They told us we can rebook at anytime. Now, after travel restrictions have been lifted, no one is available to help us. We are first responders that need and deserve a vacation. Thieves!

This is not your typical big crazy resort, this is a smaller scale resort where it is quieter. Unless you participate in the nightly events (steel drum band, dancing competition, local eats), you could be bored. Every night when we went to the club we were two of the few people in there. But it was perfect for us... no fighting over beach or pool chairs, no problem getting dinner reservations, no waiting for drinks at the bar. The staff really made made the experience great and memorable. Cornell, Romario, and Jimmy (Kishnoy) were all great behind the bar, so friendly and welcoming, and we ended each night at tree bar or one of the pool bars with them. Gregory on the grill kept us well fed and had great hospitality. Downside was being so far from the airport. Daytime could get crowded in pools when day passes are offerered for local residents (lots of grinding in the pool, we didn’t take a swim in there after the bumping and grinding). Overall, we would go back when looking for a quiet and easy trip.

The rooms were really small and cramped up (at the lowest level) The room service wouldn’t come sometimes and when they would, they wouldn’t replace all the towels.

Unusual but fun
We had an unusual, but pleasant, week. The resort was empty due to the travel ban. The staff was artillery upbeat and fun to deal with. The place is beautiful and we made some good friends there

The resort has an excellent buffet serving 3 times daily. The cuisine varies from pasta to authentic Jamaican which is really tasty. The grill by the pool/beach also has great jerk chicken. The servers are very accommodating and most of them are friendly. Joe, the tennis coach was awesome. He has 2 sessions daily Mon-Sat which is included in the cost of the room. The rooms and furnishings are some what dated and could use updating to be more modern. The gym was fairly nice and has good equipment.

The overall best employees ever!!! On the downside housekeeping was horrible and the rooms were very old looking with my air conditioning unit leaking the whole week with no one ever coming to fix it. Beautiful property with the best bartenders and the food except the breakfast buffet was excellent!!! The buffet did not have enough choices for breakfast but lunch and dinner was excellent!!!

The food was good, not outstanding. the resort had a couple of fun themed days and evenings. There no evening shows so overall entertainment was average. My biggest disappointment was the alcohol selection. The website site said premium liquor, Most of the liquor were brands I had never heard of. No good Canadian whiskey. The best bourbon they served was Jim Beam. But the grounds , pools and beaches were nice. Everyday they would rake the beach. Place was kept clean. Our room in the diamond building was beautiful, jacuzzi tub in a beautiful tile and marble bathroom. Wet bar in the room was fine. Red Stripe beer is available on tap at the bars. Easy to get pool or beach chairs. Smaller resort which we really liked with no KIDS. Yes I would go back there as I thought it was a good value. I have stayed at RIU and Sandals. They are nicer but you pay a lot more.

My husband and I went to JDR for our honeymoon, and we will definitely be going back again next year. I am a picky eater and normally don’t do well with all inclusive (we have been doing cruises) BUT the food here was AMAZING. The Jade Samuri Japanese restaurant was delicious as was the rest of the places to eat. The ocean was beautiful. The property is well taken care of. We stayed in the Honeymoon Suite and our room was gorgeous with a breathtaking view and a huge balcony.

The rooms are old and the bathroom was the worst. It was difficult getting to the bath tub because of the toilet being in the way and almost no lighting in it to even see anything. It was very dark. The service was horrible ppl were rude and the food just out right sucked!!!

My husband and I stayed at this resort 3 years ago and again in February of 2020. The people are so friendly and warm. I love how they say "Welcome Home" instead of "Welcome Back". The property is gorgeous. I wish I remembered everybody's names (apologies for not writing them down) - but I do know Damion was our favorite bartender! (he was also there 3 years ago) He was so professional but also so fun! The entertainment crew were energetic and friendly - we did have one day that was a complete wash-out, rained all day. So that was disappointing. They can't help the weather, of course, but I think more could have been done to entertain the guests inside. They should have a rainy-day plan. I prefer the Sapphire Building - we stayed there last time but were in the Diamond Building this time...not sure why. If and when we do get to visit again, I will request the Sapphire. It seems newer and more luxurious. The food was plentiful and tasty - the drinks were delicious! In summary, we love it there and can't wait for another chance to book a stay! Thanks to all the staff!

The property is clean and the food was ok. However the rooms are outdated and except for the staff at the Italian restaurant and the main cafe, the staff was not courteous and appeared quite disinterested. I believe they behaved this way because we are locals. This was evident when my husband went to get our new room keys (the room we were given had to be changed as it was not as requested). He was next in line but a lady at the front desk decided to go pass him and assist the guests standing behind him. He was eventually assisted after he rose attention to the situation. Needless to say, we are unhappy about our stay and will not be returning to that hotel in the foreseen future.

Nice small resort with great pool and descent beach. Staff is very friendly and available. Food is average at best. Great beach grill and good pizza, but the buffet needs improvement.

We were not greatly impressed by this hotel and if we went back would likely stay somewhere else. We stayed Dec. 2017. Upon arrival, we were in the elevator and it stopped and went black, some other guests stated this had been ongoing since they had been there for a few days. This was true for our 7 day stay as well with multiple power outages despite normal weather. The hotel was also under construction, which would have been nice to know, so some areas weren't accessible and you could hear power tools as you sat by the pool. I was also not impressed by the beach- the pictures are misleading. On one end there is a chain-link fence that goes into the water where locals stand behind it yelling and whistling at guests to come buy their items, drugs or jet ski rides. The other side of the beach was blocked by a pier that we couldn't access as it was under construction. I like to walk the beach at night and it's a short space to walk, plus not very relaxing with the locals yelling at you through the fence. The staff was nice and most of the food was fine, nothing I would rave about. Our room was nice and clean and they had plenty of activities to do. I did love the steel drums in the evenings. Overall not the worst trip, but not the best and wouldn't stay there again.

Don't waste your money on that place. Spend it on other resort. This place need complete renovation. About an hour after we checked in the water startet pouring from the closet's ceiling, luckily for us we didn't hang our clothes there yet. We called the front desk, they said we have to wait about an hour and they will mive us to the other room. After long wait they finally moved us to the room down the hall. The same thing was happening there the water was pouring from the ceiling in the closet. We switch tge rooms AGAIN. In the new room water wasn't pouring, but was still dripping from the closet's ceiling. We decided not to switch another room because they all seemed have the same problem. We were on the 3rd floor (it is not the top floor), that's mean the plumbing is leaking through whole 3rd floor. 2 days after the big part of texture (about 2ft x 2ft) just fell off the ceiling in the bathroom and made a huge mess and hole in a ceiling. After we called front desk it took them about 5hr to send someone to our room to fix it and when the "repair guy" finally showed up he just looked at it and said it's ok. Housekeepers cleaned the mess and we had to spend 5 more days with a huge hole in a bathroom ceiling, because they said they don't have other rooms available. The stuff is so rude, BOB is the worst. He would play volleyball on the beach all day and only allowed 3-5 people to play against him, but not with him on the team & manager said Bob choose who can play.

The property was very well maintained, the staff was always friendly and helpful, all the food and drinks were great with lots of options, we especially liked the Japanese Steakhouse. Our room was nice, but like some other reviews mentioned, they're a little dated, but was still nice, so that didn't bother us at all.

My husband and I loved this property since it was adults only! It is small but that is how we like it. We were on the ground floor of the Emerald Lanai building which I would highly recommend!!! No its not ocean view but you are only steps away from the quiet pool and the ocean is right on the other side of that. Being able to run back to the room bc its so close to everything is so worth it. The bathroom is very tiny and its almost impossible to shut the door. We didn't mind it but just wanted to make note of that. I had read so many reviews about the staff going above and beyond for everyone but we did not get that treatment. We are very nice people and did tip- not sure what the deal was but only a select few of the staff were super friendly. All in all I would recommend this resort to friends and family! Just remember it is an hour and a half drive from the airport- we got a private transfer but the driving in Jamaica is alot crazier than the midwest.
