Staff was absolutely excellent. The hotel greets yiu with a ice cold drink and a cool towel. Every request made was met with a friendly Y'Mon. Most resort buffets are old and boring, but everyday there was some thing different and exciting. The resort is right on the beach and you can walk for at least a football field length in the beautiful water.

Relaxation epitomizedPosted Sep 14, 2014
Pros: Food was excellent, cocktails incredible, and the bed was comfy
Cons: Stop the spa personnel being so aggressive in their sales pitch and improve the dysfunctional wifi
Location: The site of the hotel is perfect! We only left the hotel once!
Relaxing, rejuvenating, great food, and yet, lively if you wanted to take part in scheduled activities. All the staff bar the spa staff were happy to be there. The gardeners even gave blooms to the ladies every morning at breakfast and cut open dropped ripe coconuts to drink from! The hotels is very well kept, not the most modern, but clean ( think immaculate) and in good repair. The free transfer from the airport was appreciated too. Would definitely come again and recommend

Close to some attractions, mediocre foodPosted Sep 11, 2014
The shuttle is complimentary from Montego Bay airport and takes about 1 hour and 20 minutes to get to the resort via jdr shuttle service. No issues and thought the ride was quick, nice route to view a few other hotels, including their 2 sister resorts - paradise cove and jewel runaway. When you arrive to the resort, you feel a little like royalty by the bell people bringing your luggage to sit down at some round tables as a rep will help bring you a clip board for some information to check in. They'll offer you welcome drinks and cold towels as well. This was a warm touch, however, I would've preferred someone sit down and given me a quick rundown of where to grab a bite and at the moment resort happening activities, or even tell me where to go to our rooms. It was like here are your keys, thanks. There was no friendliness with these reps, whenever I needed to approach front desk for questions. The food at the coral cafe (buffet) really had limited selections for all three meals. It had only 8 main hot foods to select from. The jade restaurant really was not good, the tuna was spoiled and had a sour smell. Teppanyaki style service. Moonstone (Italian) was mediocre- lamb dish was a good choice. The shopping tour was definitely not worth it, Taj Mahal shopping was pure tourist scam. Dolphin cove was a good attraction to see. The photos for purchase are $9 (stingray) or $15 (dolphin).

Nice hotel right on the beachPosted Sep 9, 2014
Pros: Pools and beach were great - restaurant variety was good.
Cons: Be sure to tell the men to bring long pants - we had to go shopping so that we could eat in two of the restaurants.
Location: Enjoyed climbing Dunn River Falls - but it is for the adventurous! Ocho Rios shopping was not great. Most stores were about the same - very hot!
Couldn't have been more pleased. The staff were all wonderful and the the restaurants and bars were great. Loved the entertainment and lots of activities.

First Jamaican ExperiencePosted Sep 7, 2014
Pros: The hotel was very clean. They tried really hard to keep it that way.
Cons: They have local vendors onsite. We did not like that very much.
Location: We went golfing. There is local shopping available. They have other "adventures" available.
This was our first trip to Jamaica. We had a great week at the Jewel Dunn River. The staff was very helpful and did everything we asked for them to do.

The best staff ever.Posted Sep 6, 2014
We been to a different hotels but the staff at the jewel Dunn's river was excellent. One of our best vacations, great hotel, and views. There is a different activities all day from 8:00 am untill dinner time. They do care a lot about there guess, the make you fell so special. Jamaica will be the only place I will go twice without thinking about it. Please you have to experience the service at the hotel, every dollar you spend is worth it. They clean your room twice a day, there is always some thing to eat and dring 24/7, there is staff all day all night checking, taking care and supervising the hotel. They make us fell secure at all time.
