The resort was very clean!Posted Dec 15, 2013
The resort was very clean and the staff went above and beyond to make you happy or help you. The pool area was great but the beach area was small and the water not as clean as others in the Caribbean. The food was alright I have had better at other riu resorts. The jerk chicken station was superb!!

Great place with great food and service!Posted Dec 10, 2013
Well, this is the first time I've ever written a review and I travel quite extensively. This was a great hotel with exceptionally friendly service at all times! The hotel was very nice as well as the restaurants. Our room was one of the furthest from the restaurant but definately didn't take that long to walk anywhere. Our room was verrrry clean and the bathroom was very nice also! There is only one complaint that I have about this hotel (which isn't really the hotel's fault) which was the beach. If you are a beach person and love going in the water at the beach...........THIS ISN'T THE HOTEL FOR YOU. The water is very murky and the bottom is clay which is very mushy and disgusting on your feet. Everything else about this hotel was fabulous! If you go to this Riu......BE SURE TO GO DOWN TO THE BEACH FOR THE JERK CHICKEN! I DO NOT eat meat on vacation anywhere.......and this is the first time that I've ever had some.....in fact went back for seconds! I hope this review was helpful! Good luck in your search!

Pros: The facilities and the friendliness of the employees.
Cons: Keep up the great standard of service !
Location: A new strip shopping mall across the road.
Lots of food and drinks and a lot of activities in the hotel itself. The inhouse shows were fantastic.

Dream vacationPosted Dec 2, 2013
Pros: Location, Staff, amenities.
Cons: Lunch buffett can stand to improve ... more, fresher options.
Location: I recommend the mystic mountain rainforest adventures (bobsled, sky explorer, waterfalls, andzipline) and blue mountain bike tours. Views are spectacular
My husband and I stayed at RIU on our recent trip to Jamaica --- November 2013. We were very pleased with our experience and would recommend this hotel to anyone who is exploring options in Montego Bay. The hotel was well maintained, the staff were excellent - friendly and helpful - everyone went out of their way to ensure we were enjoying ourselves. The restaurants were good, breakfast and dinner buffets offered great variety and food quality was decent. The only area for improvement is the lunch buffet ... options were limited and the food wasn't always fresh. Overall, Jamaica was a beautiful destination ... its people are wonderful and friendly ... the hotel was excellent. My hubby and I have decided to go back again next year.

Wonderful experience and can't wait to return.Posted Nov 29, 2013
Pros: The staff were amazing, they treated us like long life friends, and the resort was beautiful.
Cons: My only true disappointment was that there was no coffee pot in my room for that morning cup of joe.
This was my first trip outside the USA and it was great! I love Jamaica and the experience we had at Riu Montego Bay. The hotel was very nice and very clean. The staff were simply amazing and very attentive. They would remember who we were and I found that quite impressive. Certainly made you feel warm and welcome. They had a nice variety of food that would satisfy anyone. Although, I was disappointed that we were unable to go to the Steak House but the Asian and Italian options were quite nice. The wine was lovely. My husband and I took the Catamaran ride and watched the sunset while drinking and watching people dance and enjoy the experience as much as we were. Hubby also decided to get certified in Scuba diving and truly enjoyed that. Needless to say, we plan on returning and I recommend the Riu for a wonderful Jamaican vacation.

Not the best..Posted Nov 25, 2013
Pros: Very pleaseant grouds and friendly staff.
Cons: Improve the wifi service.. people take vacations but they still need to remain in touch. Also, more jamaican cusine or choices for breakfast.
Location: close to town and the airport. But once there, you don't need to leave.
They have a pretty pleasant staff. I only one rude enocunter with a front desk personell. Free wifi is only available in the lobby and you are only allowed 90 minutes for the day! When I enquired about this the front desk person was just dismissive and said I need to come back tomorrow. The facility is really nice... but the beds in the room very hard to sleep on. i get seem to get up with a backache each morning.
