Relaxing and Fun trip, well worth it

Posted Aug 29, 2014
My wife and I (mid twenties) really enjoyed the trip. We stated at Riu in Cabo as well and likes it so we chose it again, and would go to Riu again. The hotel/location provided fun, relaxation, and romance all in one. Tushima and the Steakhouse were great dinners, the buffet was also good. Bring something to dress nice in or you may feel out of place at the dinners (pants and a collared shirt- dress/skirt). Beach was amazing and felt like bath water! We went to Dunns Falls and the Blue Hole, we felt the falls was a waste of money compared to the Blue Hole- great time and staff. Bring small bills to leave tips, it's optional but you will want to tip with the great service provided. We also paid for the ocean view room, so glad we did! We also stayed on the adults only side which was nice for us with not having kids, but the other side would be great for families.

Loved the quietness offered by Deluxe section

Posted Aug 29, 2014
Location: Mystic Mountains; Dunns River Falls
Upon check in, we were upgraded from garden view rooms to deluxe rooms (adults only section). That was a pleasant surprise. The room was spacious and very pretty. There was a mini fridge which had a number of drinks in them as well. There was also some liquor in the room. I enjoyed the pool and beach areas of the deluxe section because it was quiet and not crowded. The staff seemed happy and friendly. We stayed at the RIU in Ocho and would go back there :)

Fun filled time at Riu Ocho Rios

Posted Aug 27, 2014
Pros: The friendly atmosphere. Also the night entertainment.
Cons: nothing I can think of
Location: very central location. Shopping club and other entertainment is close by.
The most fun filled six days I have ever spent in Jamaica since I left so many years ago. Riu Ocho Rios is one of the most exciting place to stay on your vacation in Jamaica. You are welcomed and greeted to the hotel with a nice refreshing cool drink. (sprited is optional). Then quickly assigned a room. My room was very clean. The view of the ocean was breath taking. My room was also equipped with a mini bar which is replenished every day, a king size bed cable television and a safe for your precious items. The hotel staffs are very polite and always greet you with a smile.(or the local slang "no problem").I feel very safe staying at Riu Ocho Rios. Food is non-stop as long as you are awake. There is food and drinks everywhere. On the beach in the pools in the many restaurants, it just fun, fun and more fun. My greatest time was the Spa, that I will cherish for ever Then there was the gym and so many other thing to do, too numerous to mention. There are also many tours that you can take part of.

They have a great beach area

Posted Aug 25, 2014
Pros: The views that surrounded the hotel were great
Cons: Some of the rooms are far from the food and drink, so more ice machines that work would be great.
Location: There is plenty of things to do within an hour of the hotel so you don't have to spend all day just to do something outside of the hotel
very relaxing, you can eat and drink as much or as little as you choose. They have food available all day, you will never go hungry and there is something that everyone will like at the buffet.

Awesome

Posted Aug 22, 2014
Pros: Everything
Cons: nothing
Location: many excursion, Dunn River, bobsled, ziplining are a few of the many things we did.
from the minute we walked in the experience was amazing, very attentive staff, rooms and grounds were extremely clean, I normally travel with my own linen, but this time around didn't feel the need to use them. The food was delicious and a great variety.

RIU was an experience

Posted Aug 22, 2014
Pros: Located, amenities and staff.
Cons: The room was disappointing.
Location: Lots of options and excursions.
Amenities were great. Staff were pleasant and strived to please. Room had outdated TV, the bathroom lower tap ran the entire time i was there and the bedding could have been much better. Food was great, has a wide range of local food.

The beach was amazing

Beautiful experience. The hotel is well kept. There is a large variety of food to eat, wish there was more authentic Jamaican food served but it is a resort, and the must cater to all of their guest needs. I had a ocean view room, great scene to wake up to every morning. Staff was friendly, and the bartenders kept the drinks flowing all day and night. I had a blast!!
