Noisy hotel across the road from a public beachPosted Oct 11, 2013
Pros: Clean room, friendly staff, comfortable mattress
Cons: If it were possible to physically move the building would be the only way to make it better.
Location: Located right on the street - no buffer for the sounds of the cars and horns and local beachgoers. No ocean view.
We booked the Carlyle based on reviews and its lower price compared to the other 2 nearby Sandals (Montego Bay and Royal Caribbean). We booked for 7 nights but after our first night of being unable to sleep because of late night and early morning street noise, we worked with the management to switch our stay to Royal Caribbean and so glad we did. This resort change cost us more money, but well worth it.

Nice hotel. Rooms are old. Staff is great.Posted Sep 27, 2013
Pros: I like how it is small and the staff is so nice.
Cons: The rooms need upgrading they feel old
Location: The location is good in terms of it being near to the airport but it is a distance away from the main attractions. The beach was easy to get to.
Overall a great stay at Sandals Carlyle. The room was a bit old but the Sandals experience was there. Food was great and we loved how we could take the shuttle to the other resorts. That really made it even better.

Wonderful staff , very friendly and personable.Posted Sep 6, 2013
Beautiful place. I like the fact that you can use the other 2 Sandals facilities (Montego bay and Royal Caribirrean)...the shuttle is timely also...I would most likely stay again...would have loved if the Carlye had its own private beach but its a smaller and more friendly resort..

Sandals in Montigo BayPosted Aug 23, 2013
Pros: Small and personal. Access to the two other larger resorts with private beaches and more dining options.
Cons: Seafood quality
Location: The other Sandals resorts (Montigo Bay and Royal Caribbean) were great day and night destinations, we did the Negril bus tour, nice too.
The smallest Sandals resort in Montigo Bay, the grounds were nice, the room was clean and comfortable and the staff was friendly, the food was good but the seafood was disappointing, you would expect fresh seafood when you're staying 50' from the ocean, the fish and crab was disappointing (frozen not fresh) but the fruit was tasty.

Nice hotel close to everythingPosted Aug 20, 2013
Pros: The ability to move from one Sandals property to another. The food was outstanding!
Cons: The carpet in our room looked as if it was the original carpet installed when the hotel first opened. It really needs to be changed.
Location: Location is close to town, beaches, shopping, and the airport.
We loved the Sandals experience! We stayed at the Carlyle which is a small intimate hotel and ate some of our meals there, but we moved among the other Sandals hotels to experience different restaurants and beaches. Our vacation was a lot more interesting because we were able to do this. We enjoyed all three hotels in Montego Bay and even went to Sandals Negril and Sandals Whitehouse. We loved every minute of our vacation and would go back in a heartbeat!

Okay for short stays.Posted Jul 29, 2013
Cons: No beach
Location: See above
Good service, v pleasant staff but the hotel looks a bit tired. The absence of a beach is a major downside for a longer holiday but we were only there for. 2 days so it made no difference to us.

Welcoming staffPosted May 29, 2013
We only stayed at the Carlyle for 3 nights but had such an amazing time and the staff were so welcoming and fun. Our first room was not the nicest and could really do with refurbishing but we were moved to a much nicer room on our second day which we were not expecting. It was our first experience of Sandals and we would definitely go back. We visited the other larger Sandals in MoBay but we felt much more at home and welcomed in the Carlyle. Thanks Carlyle staff.

Pros: The food and service was amazing
Cons: The beach.. but that does not count given you get the other 2 Sandals beaches
Location: Amazing.. less than 10 minutes from the airport!
Fantastic for a bed and breakfast feel Sandals in Jamaica.

Love JamaicaPosted Jan 14, 2013
Pros: The people that work there are great
Cons: The beach is a small public beach across the street
The people that work at the Carlyle are wonderful. Great service, the hotel is well worth the money. You can get better rooms if you'd like to pay more at Montego Bay or The Royal Caribean. The public beach across the road is the downside but you can use the two other Sandals hotels' beaches and they are both great.

Boutique All-InclusivePosted Dec 14, 2012
Pros: The staff.
Cons: Lack of beach (but Doctor's Cave Beach a short walk from the hotel is awesome).
Location: Nice, boutique all-inclusive..
We had a great stay. Wife had a big cry when we left. She loves the staff.
