Lovely hotel with personable staffPosted Nov 23, 2013
Pros: Food and drinks being inclusive. As well as general ambiance. Staff were also really friendly.
Cons: Definition of all inclusive does not include spa etc.
Location: Very close to the airport. relatively close to souvenir shopping areas.

The resort is very nice but poor entertainmentPosted Nov 18, 2013
Pros: The pools and the staff.
Cons: When it's advertised as all inclusive, it should be all inclusive !!!
Location: Taxi to go to town are VERY EXPENSIVE
The most unpleasant fact was the charge of $15/day for the wifi !!!..... which is free everywhere else, why not paying for the electricity and water ? The entertainment at night was mostly couple games, I was expecting good reggae .... but only one night we had a good band.

Beautiful resort with excellent view of the ocean.Posted Nov 14, 2013
Pros: The staff, the comfort of our room, the food and well kept grounds. We also enjoyed the nightly entertainment and picturesque views on the resort!
Cons: Though the rooms were well kept, a little extra touch-up paint around the shower stall trim and deep cleaning around the toilet would make emasculate!
Location: We only left the resort to shop and visit the local casino. The casino was very small with about 60 slot machines and 3 or 4 electronic tables.
When we arrived we were greeted by a very friendly and professional staff. Our concierge Omar was awesome and very attentive! The restaurant staff always made us feel as if we were their only customer and made great recommendations/substitutions on food & alcoholic beverages. We loved having a Jamaican coffee every morning and the baristas always served us with a smile. One thing of particularly note was none of the staff made you feel as though you owed them a tip, YOU wanted to tip because of their excellent service! When staying at the resort, be sure to do a tour with Esan!! She was amazing and made the shopping/tour enjoyable. She was also very protective of her customers and made sure we weren't being harassed by overzealous locals. Finally, this is the 3rd time we've stayed at a Secrets resort. We were asked to attend a presentation of the AMResorts. Our sells representative Latoya was professional and really cared about what we wanted. She did not try to pressure us into the sale as so many of the other timeshare reps do. After hearing the excellent presentation, we decided to become members of AMResorts. I’d like to give a BIG shout out to Latoya for a job well done!! YEAH MON!!

Fun in Jamaica, Yah Mon!Posted Nov 13, 2013
Pros: The view from the room! The staff. A very romantic setting.
Cons: Have more glasses at the piano bar, they kept running out of glasses, but the staff was wonderful!
Location: The location was close to most of the places we wanted to visit. The cab rides were pricey, but the drivers were very friendly and knowledgeable.
The Hotel was very nice, the food at the restaurants were excellent, especially Bordeaux! The service at some of the restaurants were a little slow, but we had a large party and that could have been the problem. Overall, I had a wonderful time.

LOved the resort. Room was fabulous !Posted Nov 11, 2013
Pros: Loved the vibe, the modern furnishings and the clean facilities. THe food in some restaurants was exceptional.
Cons: the check-in procedurenwas very frustrating. Registration should not be in the same area where sales pitches are being made.
Location: We loved our visit to Nigril, especially the beaches!
Wonderful experience. There should be an option to go to a dinner buffet. Hard to get reservatrions some nights at specialty restaurants.

Wedding on the BeachPosted Nov 10, 2013
Pros: The location on the beach was a huge plus. The staff was also very nice, especially Simone at the poolside. Jerk Chicken at 12 by the pool was great.
Cons: The taste of the food could be improved. The hotel was best at serving its native foods, not so much on foods of other cultures.
Location: Never felt the need to step off the property.
I was at the resort for a wedding and I believe the majority of the attendees had a really good time. The weather was great so that is always helpful. My room was on the 3rd floor and it had a very nice ocean view. There is a balcony that one can sit on to enjoy the views. Breakfast to me was the best meal of the day since it is buffet style and it is hard to mess up eggs. With that said however dinner at the seaside grill was the best meal of the trip. I only regret having so many drinks because they were full of calories and almost no alcohol. Therefore, promoting the top shelf liquor seemed useless, when you couldn't taste it. The staff was really nice and they weren't nice with hopes of a gratuity, but I felt guilty for not leaving one for good service, even for an all inclusive place. Overall the resort was a nice place to stay and I would go again.

3rd time back!Posted Nov 9, 2013
Pros: The staff/hospitality, the luxury accommodations with a swim out room, preferred club amenities, restaurants, food/drinks, entertainment.
We absolutely love Secrets Wild Orchid. It is truly great escape with all of the amenities one could ask for and hospitality that is second to none. The beach/grounds, food/drinks, entertainment, accommodations, facilities, etc. exceed expectations along with the caring staff of people who truly take care of their guests. We tell everyone we know about this resort and we can't wait to go back once again.
