Very good budget option in Mo'BayPosted Nov 29, 2013
Pros: The friendly staff, the safe feeling there, very nice pool.
Location: Close to the airport, within walking distance to the Hip Strip, Doctors Cave Beach close by and very nice
Toby's is most certainly not a luxury resort - but I wasn't looking for that anyway. It's very close to the airport - yet out of the flight path (I believe I heard one aeroplane in the 3 days I spent there, I get more than that at home!). The pool next to our room was very nice, the restaurant was not the most inventive on our 3 week-trip in JAM, but very nice indeed. The staff was very helpful with any queries we had. We extended our stay when the banking system in JAM had a glitch. They let us stay before we could even pay for our extra night! They provided safe parking and an all-round satisfying stay. Very much recommended!

Pros: Clean and friendly
Cons: A free airport shuttle would be nice as it is very close to the airport and the airport taxi drivers are a rip off
Location: Not by any beaches but by the hip strip as it is called don't know why the call it that as it is a bit seedy if you ask me
Good hotel for a transit stay don't think I would recommend it for a long stay as the location is not by any beaches unless you want to go down the road and play to go on a private beach

Perfectly AdequatePosted Nov 17, 2013
Cons: Maps of Montego Bay seem to be in short supply.
Location: The Anglican church is downtown Montego Bay is something to see.
Toby's Resort was one of the more moderate priced hotels in Montego Bay, which was why I chose it. The staff were helpful and friendly. The grounds were well kept. The rooms, while not fancy, were perfectly adequate and clean. On the Saturday night there was loud music from somewhere nearby.

For the slightly more adventurous folkPosted Nov 14, 2013
Had been in Negril for a week and wanted to spend a night in Montego Bay to check it out and be close to the airport for a flight the next day. Toby's was a prime location, allowed us to walk to and down the hip strip for shopping and lunch at Margaritaville, and take a 5 min cab ride ($15 USD) to the airport the next morning. The staff was terrific, friendly, and the restaurant/bar was quiet but decent. The room we had was less than what I would've liked, not being familiar with the area I imagine we got what we paid for... the door didn't sit flush in the frame and we could see light/hear every noise in the hall. The shower head was not functional, but we did not report it. The A/C unit was great, but the patio doors were also looked like they should be replaced, not repaired. There's nothing terrible about this place at all but I do not think we'd go back.

Low priced, clean, safe placePosted Nov 14, 2013
Pros: Front desk ladies are very nice
Cons: Have safe's in the room instead of behind front desk- website falsely claims "in room safe"
Location: Everything is nearby within walking distance
Nice quiet hotel and the end (beginning ?) of hip strip. Good place to relax for the price

Toby's ResortPosted Nov 6, 2013
Pros: Safe and comfortable, and affordable.
Cons: It's older, so the only improvements would be to renovate. But then it's very nice as is, so just keep it maintained.
Location: Good location, and the shops and food eateries are within easy walking distance.
This is an older motel, but the accommodations are very nice and the staff very pleasant and helpful. My wife and I felt safe here, and the location is very close (walking distance) to the tourist areas of the beach, shops and restaurants.

Hotel was greatPosted Oct 10, 2013
Pros: It was close to the airport, close to sunset beach and is in a good area for night life. Taxi is readily available.
Cons: Paint the building so it look more up to date.
Location: walking distance to downtown montego bay. I felt secure because it is situated on the tourist strip where police presence is maintain most of the time
The hotel was good. the staff were excellent especially the front desk. The rooms kept up to date except that the building needs a little repair such as painting.

Nice place to stay on a budgetPosted Sep 6, 2013 on Hotels.com
I Had too stay somewhere because of flight issues. I was pleasantly surprised at this location. Older resort but very nice and clean. Walking distance to many shops and restaurants. Onsite dining was decent too. Would def stay here again for a weekend getaway.
