Hotel takes pride in the maintenance & cleanliness of their property. We stayed on top floor & had a view of the ocean. 1 mi from ocean which is walkable. We highly recommend this hotel.

We booked based on other traveller reviews and Carmel Bay Inn was exactly as others described. Great little spot, easy parking, close to everything. Many restaurants are walkable and there’s a market a block away that has everything

We have stayed at this property several times in the past three years. Every time we return we find that some part of the facilities has been updated. The bathroom in our room was all updated. The outdoor gardens are also full of new plantings. All these little changes has been a treat.

The front staff was fantastic. Personable, friendly and very helpful. The rooms are older, but recently remodeled and very comfortable. Ours even had a gas fireplace in it. It's on the upper edge of town and walkable to everything. Parking is convenient on property. Most rooms have a westward view with a peak at the ocean. We could see amazing sunsets from the walkway. I would definitely stay here again.

The bed linens smelled like they had been stored in a musty closet for some time. Other than that everything was great. Good location, friendly check in, clean rooms and great location.

The best thing about the property is the location. Walkable to everything. Breakfast is inedible and room upon check-in had a musty smell that permeated clothes, hair, etc. We asked to change rooms, which was better.

Was in Monterey for 24hrs and decided to spend the night in Carmel. Checked in around 5ish right after booking through Expedia. This Carmel bay view Inn was so cute and cozy! Perfect for dad baby and me! Great customer service, got recommendations for dinner & shopping. Breakfast was quick and easy with bagels- orange juice- eggs & bacon - coffee too! Might I add, the bathroom was huge! I’d def stay here again! Thank you

Such a nice place! Really enjoyed the location and comfortable bed. The deluxe king room came with a fireplace and ocean view from the balcony which was very nice. Very clean hotel with lovely staff. Didn't care for the breakfast options but was happy to walk to all of the amazing places close by for meals. Will come back!

A lovely overnight in Carmel (February 11, 2024). Our only regret is that we did not have more time to stay. The Inn is exceptionally conveniently located to Ocean and all the shops and restaurants. Our room (#412) was very spacious, exceptionally clean, the beds (2 queens) were just right, and we had an unobstructed ocean view. Plus, there was plenty of off street parking literally right outside our door, which was very, very convenient. My family would definitely stay here again the future if we come back to visit Carmel--with more time, hopefully, the next time!

The front desk staff was so helpful. When we arrived they were doing construction on the street right outside our room (very loud) so my concern was how early the next day would they start. She immediately offered to move us and went outside to speak to the workers who assured her they were just about done and not be working on the next morning. I was impressed with her quick action and concern. THANK YOU‼️

Absolutely everything was fantastic! The room was super comfortable and with a great view. I had a great time waking up there hearing the seagulls and other birds. I had a nice hot beverage in the balcony and just had a great time.

Good Value and Convenient Location
Overall, this was a good choice for Carmel. It's just a few steps away from the major shopping areas. Conveniently, there is a grocery and a wine shop right next door. We loved that the room was large and comfortable, and had a balcony that in our case overlooked a group of Fairytale Cottages. We didn't realize that our room was in a separate building from the main entrance. Not a problem for us, but it might be for others. You have to walk up a fairly steep hill to get to the entrance of that building, and you have to go to a different building to talk with staff and to get breakfast. The breakfast area was rather spartan, and the menu was very basic.
