Cannery Row Inn

We come to this hotel once a year on our motorcycle and then travel down Highway 1. Suits our needs - comfortable and walking distance to everything.

Hotel needs a upgrade. It is worn out. Great location.

The room was clean, comfortable and spacious but could do with a small refurb. More than satisfactory for our family of 2adults and 2 children. Breakfast was good for a continental breakfast and really enjoyed the coffee. The only negative for us was the stomping from the room above at 6.00am in the morning. Sounded like a herd of elephants. Request a top floor room and would be great

the hotel is run down and the bedrooms not very comfortable eg old tv mounted high up in corner . There is nowhere to sit for breakfast except outside which isnt good when it is cold or windy. The position wasnt bad although it is a bit removed from the main part of cannery row which is misleading given the name of the hotel

Great location and the staff was superb! The hotel is dated but the room was clean and comfortable. The continental breakfast was what we expected and enough for us. Would recommend.

We liked the location. It was a very quiet hotel. There were lots of families but the only other guests we heard were the ones overhead. This hotel is on the bike path and between Cannery Row and Fisherman's Wharf. The free parking was great. Half of the parking is covered. The breakfast had great fresh fruit every day- pineapple, can't elope and watermelon. There were lots of friendly fellow travelers, mostly families and bicyclists. We never did find the hot tub area. The only downside was the maintenance. Our room was large and had a half sized fridge, microwave and coffee maker. The thermostat didn't work, though. It was either burning hot or pretty cold, regardless of which heat source we used. The heater and the gas fireplace were both efficient at heating, they just had to be switched off manually. The tub was pretty badly chipped and the sliding glass door to the balcony kept getting stuck off track. The carpet was pretty dirty. It was still an overall positive for the money. Not a romantic retreat but it felt safe, had breakfast and a fridge and was in a good location .

We come here every year and stay in different hotels so we can experience all that Monterey has to offer. This hotel is good for families as well as couples, needs a little make over, but is clean. Cont. Breakfast was good, location is close to most attractions (Warf, Cannery row, IMax, walking & bike paths). We had a great family Vacation!
