Meh?Posted Oct 20, 2014
Small room (#19) above the laundry room and a noisy outside staircase. Very small bathroom. Overall condition of the "Lodge" is fair at best. Not get value.

Nice hotel but road noise distracting!Posted Oct 15, 2014
Pros: Convenience to restraunts and shops, adequate parking on site nice staff....
Cons: Better contenental breakfast (dry croissants and forgot cream) noise is not good but can't be helped
Location: Great shops and food. Loved Casanova restraunt right across the street.
Very nice that it is right in Carmel but the road noise on San Carlos is continual so it was a bit distracting from the beautiful setting.

okay hotel.Posted Oct 7, 2014
Cons: bathroom size, noise.
Location: good location for Carmel.
It was clean and the bedroom was comfortable. The bathroom was too small and there was no counter space for toiletries.

Nice hotel, pricey, but so is Carmel!Posted Oct 2, 2014
We arrived at the check-in time of three, but only one of our two rooms was ready. The receptionist said he would call our room when the other one was ready. After half an hour of waiting, eager to explore, we went down to find someone else on reception who had no idea that we were waiting for our room, so that was a bit annoying. Other than that, it was lovely - the beds and bedding were so comfy I didn't want to get up the next morning! If you're determined to stay in Carmel, I recommend this hotel. If your unsure as to whether to actually visit Carmel, I would recommend you find somewhere with more life and a soul. It's like a Disney-version of a small town with hardly anything to do other than shop and eat in overpriced cafés and restaurants.

Put Carmel on your bucket list - it is a mustPosted Sep 27, 2014
Pros: Friendly staff and convenient location.
Cons: We had some issues with lighting in our room. Breakfast was bought to your room but was only 1 croissant, 2 strawberries and coffee.
Location: Location is beautiful and only a stones throw from Big Sur and from the 17 Mile Scenic Drive from Monterey-Carmel. Both are a must.
Carmel is such a beautiful place to visit. There are so many art and photographic shops, restaurants and quaint little shops. Carmel Lodge was conveniently located and only a short drive to the beach. We had a King size bed which was really comfortable. Beth at the front desk was the most friendly lady we have encountered so far this holiday. She was fabulous and friendly.

Good location close to Carmel shops and restaurantPosted Sep 26, 2014
Pros: Location , cleanliness .
Cons: Breakfast served in room with no choice - not an ideal service
Location: See above
Good location - walking distance to shops , restaurants and beach not too far away . Easy access to 17 mile drive . Room fine, but a bit stuck in the corner by the ice machine ( not a noise problem )

Needs updatingPosted Sep 23, 2014
Pros: The beds were very comfortable! The hotel staff was very nice and accommodating.
Cons: It needs a complete makeover!!!! It is straight out of the 50's and not in a good way.
Location: Location was near restaurants. Easy to walk around downtown. Beach further than we'd like.
The first room was not very clean and had a sewage smell to it. The plumber came the next day and said it was hair dye! We know what sewage smells like. After putting chemicals down the sink, shower and toilet there was still a sewage smell and we requested another room. The closet had not been painted in many years. The TV was very old. It was not updated at all and very noisy that first night. The second room was much better, still old TV and not updated, but no smell. However, the area it is at was very noisy from drunk, loud people, and I would not stay there again so close to the restaurants.

Nice & cozy. Close to lots of restaurants & shops.Posted Sep 16, 2014
Pros: Location, close to everything.
Cons: Switchboard closed at night. Smoke alarm low battery beep woke us at 3 a.m. I was only able to leave a message & put a pillow over my head until a.m.
Location: Shop, eat, beach, sight see, golf
Small and older hotel/motel, but clean room. Croissants and coffee delivered in morning. Expensive for the size and amenities. Satisfactory. I would recommend it as a second choice. We made last minute reservations & felt we were lucky to get a room in Carmel.

Nice Hotel - close to restaurants and shopsPosted Sep 8, 2014
The hotel is older but clean, nice and friendly staff. They even deliver a Continental breakfast to your room in the morning. Its in a very convenient location for wandering around Carmel. I noticed that you can bring dogs into certain room which is nice if you want to bring your pet. I would definitely stay here again next time I visit Carmel

Pros: The staff, location and the hotel being very clean and well maintained, great parking.
Cons: The only things that you could improve is more lighting on and around the hotel so that the hotel will be much more easier to find at night. J
