Nice Hotel for the price.

Posted May 19, 2015
Pros: Clean rooms, great shower, hotel staff was friendly. Free parking.
Cons: Décor in the room was 'funky' with the ocean motif and get movie channels.
We stayed one night as a last minute reservation. The room was clean and upgraded recently (2-3 years). The bed was very firm and we asked for a topper to soften it up a bit. None available. The TV had no movie channels and no way to rent or to bring a DVD from the front desk. The shower was good. I would recommend this hotel as a good one for the price but don't expect a lot of frills. We asked for the quietest room available and were pleased to be placed on the top floor. However, this was right across the parking lot from the pizza place that had a live band that was very much above any noise ordinances until 10:30 pm. It was quiet after that. Charging for breakfast was a bit much as it should be included. Parking was free also.

A quick trip

I arrived in time to check in at Happy Hour. The food was amazing. The hors d' ouvres were free with the purchase of an alcoholic beverage. The bed was so comfy.

Excellent

Posted May 6, 2015
Pros: Clean
Location: Go to the Italian restaurant across the road.
Very clean and fresh. The opposite side is a little town with restaurants and shops. I definitely recommend the Italian place opposite for dinner. The onsite restaurant good, we had breakfast there. The staff were friendly. When you drive past you are thinking firstly, oh no, then as you drive closer everything seems new and fresh and clean. Would 100% recommend.

Not close to town.

Pros: ok
Cons: see above
Too far from town to charge so much. Needs repairs, bathroom door didn't close all the way.

Easter Visit

Posted Apr 10, 2015
Pros: Staff, grounds and bar....
We've stayed at the Carmel Mission Inn in the past when visiting the Monterey Bay area and it was just as delightful this time. We just love this hotel. The staff are amazing, the grounds are lovely and the bar is great.....

Great hot tub, happy child

Posted Apr 9, 2015
Pros: Hot tub, pool, staff and free food with adult drink
Cons: Breakfast choices
Location: Loads of stuff near by
Great hotel, short drive into the centre of Carmel. Very close to Carmel Mission, Safeway, lots of shops and restaurants and main arterial routes. Fantastic hot tub, clean and warm swimming pool and very friendly staff. Recommend the free starter buffet if you buy an adult drink between 5 - 7 in the evening. Only downside was limited choice of breakfast buffet...but even this was not bad at all. Definitely worth staying there.

Didn't want to walk on the room barefoot.

Could use some serious updating. Everything was very worn. The carpets were frighteningly stained. The hallways were disgusting. The walls were thin.

very convenient for what I needed to do.

Posted Apr 2, 2015
Pros: Close to work location and close to restaurants and other shopping
Cons: Maybe a little more parking.
Location: Botiques and small restaurants behind the motel within easy walking distance. More across the street.
I asked for a first floor room and got it. It is a popular hotel/motel and parking can be an issue if you get in late. But there was always adequate parking.

Carmel Mission Inn does it again!

Posted Apr 1, 2015
Pros: We've been coming since 1990. My grandparents lived in Carmel for 30 years and were the reason we fell in love with this beautiful place.
Cons: We noticed the very low water pressure in the shower and sinks. I'm sure due to the drought.
Location: Rio Grill was wonderful, also enjoyed brunch at From Scratch. Drove to Monterey to bowl on a foggy afternoon. Our best meal by far was Little Napoli!
My husband and I had a great weekend with our 3 grown daughters, their boyfriends and our dog. We had fun in your colorful, refurbished pool and lounge area. We love being walking distance to great restaurants. We also love the decor of the rooms and the comfortable beds.
