Don't judge a book by its cover

The hotel can't be rated by its location. The front desk was efficient and very friendly. Rooms were surprisingly spacious, clean and well appointed with upscale amenities. Everything well maintained or newly renovated. Fantastic value just 5 minutes from the shore and downtown Carmel.

Very dog friendly

Posted Dec 30, 2014
Pros: dog-friendly
Cons: It could be closer to Carmel, but that can't happen.
Since we couldn't eat in the restaurant, they let us eat in the lobby where there were chairs and tables. It was too cold to eat outside. They were eager to please us and seemed to enjoy people's pets too. They were helpful in finding a park where our dog could be off leash.

Everything was great, except they allowed dogs in the restaurant, which was very disturbing. These were not service dogs, but just dogs of patrons.

Hard to find the entrance

Posted Dec 28, 2014
We drove at least half an hour around the block to find the entrance of the hotel. It is hidden by the dark night and the plants.

Good hotel off Hwy 1

Posted Dec 25, 2014
Pros: Decent stay for the price
Cons: Room space, storage, update carpets and furnishings
Visited off season in Dec with kids. Hotel is very close to Hwy 1 and across safeway and starbucks. Rooms were decent although the carpet was worn and somewhat dirty at the room edges. Bathrooms were clean. We had to leave things unpacked as there seemed to be very little space and storage inside the room. Breakfast at $12 per person was overpriced and we did not go for it. Only a few minutes from the beach. Quiet, kid friendly.

Hotel for our family wedding occasion

Posted Dec 15, 2014
Pros: Attractive, extremely clean. The bed was comfortable with lots of good pillows!!
Cons: Fix the heat!
Location: We were with family at a nearby golf resort so we didn't do anything else. Maybe next time.
Due to bad weather (the storm of the year) we had a hard time finding the hotel. The entrance seemed round-about & difficult to find. I had asked to be near the elevator due to physical problems & we were located clear down at the end of a long hall. I asked to be near my daughter & they were located at the opposite end of the hall. The room was very cold, despite following directions to use the wall thermostat to increase the temp - never did work! The room was very nice, attractive with all physical needs attended to at the time.
