“So Cal visitor”
This is a great deal. The hotel is located on the edge the shopping and restaurant district of Carmel. We were able to walk one block and find a great restaurant. The only drawback would be for people with mobility issues-- lots of stairs and no elevator. Our room was nicely decorated and the bed was very comfortable. They have a limited Continental breakfast. The wifi system didn't work very well in our room-- we had an end room. It worked well in the patio area and the lobby. This hotel was a great bargain !
“Carmel?”
liked wine every night, breakfast is nothing special, location perfect, good owners. overall, ok hotel to stay for several nights
“Good Value”
Excellent location, we had a beautiful ocean view from our room. The room was spacious and clean. The only disappointment with the room was the bed which was very old, as were most other furnishings in the room. The other disappointment was "breakfast". It consisted of toast, oatmeal or you could make your own waffle (on an old waffle iron that didn't seem to be working properly). I would definitely stay here again. It was over all a positive experience.
“Its ok”
The hotel is dated. For the price I expected more. But good location.
“Very impressed”
Nothing fancy, but the condition of the hotel and the rooms was perfect in that 'bed and breakfast" kinda way. Very quiet and just a few streets from Ocean, the main drag of Carmel. You will have to drive to the beach and to the Mission Ranch, however. But there's plenty in walking distance.
“ready to go back”
Nice room close to downtown short walk
“we plan to go back - had a great stay”
The Inn is managed by a gracious and helpful couple and the breakfast bar in the morning is great. The rooms are quite large and nicely appointed (especially given the age of the building), like having a suite. The small refrigerator in the room was very helpful. Location couldn't be better if you want to explore Carmel, walk to the Mission, and enjoy the local beaches. We will definitely stay there again and will recommend it to others.
“Reasonably priced for business travel.”
Having two bathrooms was very nice for business colleagues. This hotel is very quaint, and Brophy's Tavern down the street is very close with good food and great service.
“This is a 1.0 - 1.5 star (motel)”
Disappointed, We arrived after driving for five hours to a dismal motel room. The place calls itself an inn, but I do not see were it is any different than a motel 6. peeling paint, nicked walls, promised a tempurpedic bed, (got an old hard lumpy mattress). wifi does not work so you have to try and steal it from another inn, per the front desk. ocean view is so distant you would need a telescope to view. noisy room facing a parking lot. no parking when we got there at check in time. My daughter wanted to read in the courtyard(deck), but the fireplace did not work, and no one is in the office/complimentary continental breakfast room after 8pm.
“Good value and service in a great location”
This hotel was a good choice after a lot of research. It has safe parking and is only 200 yards away from central Carmel [ but about 3/4 mile from the beach if that's your thing but there is good access and parking for that too]. It was welcoming in a pleasant and not over the top way. Breakfast was good and included. Our room, No 4 , was in effect a mini suite with kitchen, so you could avoid the sometimes pricey Carmel food and cook your own. That said we eat at the Hog's Breath Inn and Bella Napoli - food was good at both and the bar meals at the HB more than adequate [ and only 300 metres from hotel]. It could do with a lick of paint in just a few places but you could equally call that patina and a paint job would put the price up. Our bill was higher than others in less popular US venues but very reasonable. All in all a good choice if you like homely and don't want flashy - many others in Carmel would charge 50% more at least as did our next stay in Santa Barbara, for no extra value and equally worn decor.
