Great location and excellent staff

Posted Jul 21, 2014
Pros: I accidentally forgot my wedding band in the room and didn't notice until hours later. The honest staff had it in lost and found waiting for me.
Cons: The bathroom in our room was a bit outdated.
This hotel has a great location and is very close to a lot of great bars, restaurants and the ocean.

Nice, but be aware.

Cons: What's the use of having fans in the bathrooms if you can't turn them on????
Location: Monterey is a lovely town with lots to do.
The hotel grounds are nice, the rooms clean and beds comfortable. Be aware there is no air conditioning - maybe not too bad in Monterey, but there is also no way to turn the bathroom fans on. So, there is no way to ventilate the bathroom, and the room can be very stuffy. We kept our door open a lot... not too comfortable for a couple of single women...

Vacation with grown children

Pros: Beautiful flowers, restaurant food good, helpfulness of staff, very comfortable beds
Cons: restaurant open earlier for ambitious hikers
Location: rented bikes and rode around bay, hiking in Big Sur area
Hotel staff helpful answering questions about sightseeing, appreciated that they booked our two rooms adjoining with connecting door even though this was not specifically requested. Used fitness room and found everything clean and in working order

the room was smaller than requested w/ a bed that creaked w/ every move! When we complained they said they were "sorry"! The restaurant is great in the premises!

The hotel itself was fine. Would stay there again, but definitly would not book a room with two double beds for 4 people. The beds were just a tad bigger than twin beds. Sharing a small bed with another adult does not make for a comfortable night. Would also request a room that is not near the fire exit as the maid staff with their carts use that area and were so noisy early in the morning.

Cons: The parking is difficult - however I don't think there is anything they can do about it.
Location: You can walk to anything in Monterey from Casa Munras. It is a pleasant stroll any time of the day or night.
It is well located. Has a very friendly ambiance - particularly in the bar and restaurant. Pool is fine - especially if you have children.

Hotel/Motel

Posted Jun 19, 2014
Pros: Nothing
Cons: Have this facility classified as it actually is, an average motel
Location: Standard Monterey; very pleasant and many thing to do or just relax.
I can't imagine this facility could be classified as a hotel. It isn't even a nice motel. The rate was $198.00/night for a cozy queen room, which should have been only $89.00/night. Very thin walls, very noisy.

Thank you for your feedback as it is vital to our continued improvement. We are all disappointed to hear that your stay did not meet expectations. Our Cozy Queen guest rooms are a great alternative for a single traveler passing through with a square footage of 200 ft. This room is our most economical choice, but not as ideal for those needing more space. We would like to invite you back in the hopes of accommodating your party to better suite their needs. We would also like to share that we will begin room renovations in October, as our lobby, restaurant, meeting spaces, and spa have all recently been updated. In the scope of the renovation plans we will be installing all new insulation and double pane windows to minimize noise transmissions. We hope that you will consider returning in the future to experience the updates firsthand. Sincerely, Management of the Inns of Monterey
