“Would Stay Here Again”

We recently stayed at the Casa Munras while visiting our daughter in Monterey. The room was very clean and the maintenance staff was really on top of things. One of our shutters was broken (we didn't even notice it, the cleaning staff did) and they fixed it immediately. The only thing we could complain about is the fact that the bathroom got very steamed up and you had to open the door to clear it out. To us, that is a pretty minor thing. The hotel is within walking distance to Fisherman's Wharf and the Monterey pedestrian/bike trail which runs along the entire bay to the south. My husband utilized the spa services and found the people there to be friendly and quite knowledgeable as well.

“Good low expedia rate”

Clean convenient location, motel access, if you can get a low rate it is worth it. The published rate seems high. Room was well decorated but smallish. No desk if you need to work.

“Great room, but horrible front desk service”

The room was cozy and clean. The guy at the front desk who checked us in was rude. My parents had called to upgrade room and sent champagne and strawberries for my wedding day. We did not receive items until my mom physically came to the front desk and complained.

“Can't wait to go back! Casa Munras made our stay awesome!”

Awesome hotel! Loved the cozy atmosphere and awesome service. It was our honeymoon, and we had a fantastic time. The gym is nice. Bring headphones from home. It is in a great location. Loved having Trader Joe's close by. We enjoyed being in historic Monterey. Checkout sights you want to see prior to going to see what is in walking distance. We definitely will be back!

“Quaint and Charming”

A great hotel with a great location that was a short walk to downtown and the pier. The staff was courteous and accommodating. The only thing I can say to be wary of is the thin walls, you can hear the muffled sounds of the guest in adjoining rooms if they are being louder, but I wouldn't be overly concerned.

“Easily one of the best in Monterey”

Casa Munras is a very clean and classy hotel with a wide range of features, including in-room fireplaces for added luxury, all at a very reasonable price. It's several buildings are in one large area that seal in the atmosphere given off by the hotel, which was a very good strategy given their location. Neighboring a gasstatio, a Travelodge and a Denny's the area leaves some to be desired, and the rooms are not equipped with air conditioning. However this would rarely be a problem in Monterey's chronically cool climate and you are only a short drive from the true beauty of this area, so if you're looking for a nice hotel without breaking the bank I would definitely recommend Casa Munras.

“Casa Munras is awesome!”

Stayed two nights. Almost didn't choose this hotel because it only had a two star rating but I'm glad we stayed! Very beautiful property with excellent service. We dealt with the front desk several times and each time were met with stellar service. Rooms are comfortable and we enjoyed the king room with fireplace. Our patio doors opened to a small balcony with chairs. The wharf is only a short walk away and the hotel is across the street from a small cafe and Denny's. Very quiet property at night. Wonderful! I would also recommend the Sano Spa on property. They gave an excellent massage and we enjoyed a $35 credit per person per day there from the hotel.

Area recommendations

Casa Munras is a short walk from the Fishermans Wharf area. There are places to eat within a short walk as well. If you are interested in staying close to cannery row or the aquarium, this is further away. You would need to drive to that area.
