Comfortable B&B

Posted May 15, 2015
Pros: Great location, Very comfortable, relaxing courtyard, great breakfast, friendly staff.
Cons: I hate to say it but having a tv would be nice.
Location: Easy walk to lovers point and miles of coastal trails. Great restaurants within walking distance. Try the early bird dinner at the beach house.
We just stayed for one night. We know the area well and this is a relaxing property with a great location.

Old style hotel close to the beach

Posted Apr 14, 2015
Pros: Location
Cons: Upgrade the rooms, add TV. Garbage trucks started at 5:30 am followed by sea gulls, and woke me up.
Location: Biking, kayaking.
It's an old-style hotel. Most of the buildings in Pacific Grove seems to be built in the early 1900's. No TV in the room. Coffee and tea and cookies are available most of the day in the lobby. You can rent a bike right in the hotel, and bike down to the beach, then west along the beaches (no need to pay for "17-miles Drive"), and east on the bike path through the Cannery Row, then stop at the Old Fisherman's Wharf (no need for a car either)

Nice neat hotel close to the beach!

Posted Apr 6, 2015
Pros: Clean, quiet. Great breakfast.
Cons: My bed was not steady. Headboard makes noisy.
Location: Close to the ocean and shops. We love jogging along the coast.
My teenager daughter and I spent 2 nights here. Very neat hotel. Close to the ocean. Very quiet. I learned that every Monday there is an organic food market about 1 block away. There are also authentic Indian and Thai food available. We love the location.

Meh

Posted Apr 6, 2015
This is a beautiful facility in a great location. Unfortunately, it seemed as if management is cutting corners to reduce costs. Our cottage could have been much more comfortable and attractive given a small investment. Breakfast staff seemed too eager to finish work. Other staff were overheard complaining about management.

The room was nice but the bathroom was very tiny and unhandy.

Pros: Location.
Cons: Location of electrical switches. Safe entrance and exit of bath tub.
Location: Good location. Lots to do in Pacific Grove.
Convenient location. Reception was friendly. Suite was spacious, but outdated. Equipment not convenient or safe. Don't expect older visitiors to crawl in and out of a antique tub without handholds - it is not safe.

Beautiful inn in perfect location!

Posted Feb 20, 2015 on Hotels.com
Beautiful inn in a great neighborhood. Perfect location for everything! Warm reception and superb breakfast! Room is okay for an old period inn, but not 5 star hotel quality. Bathroom not luxurious. No place to put stuff. Inconvenient.

Excellent location

Posted Feb 16, 2015 on Hotels.com
The Hotels-com discounted room is a handicapped-accessible one, facing the street, nearby the stop sign. It was noisier than the other rooms, particularly as trucks accelerated from the stop. I am guessing that they don't rent it out very often, so they open it up for discount through Hotels.com. Breakfast was OK - you need to get there early to get the tasty scones that go fast! We went for a morning run and returned, only to find crumbs. The cooked-to-order breakfast was OK, but smallish, particularly after a run. The running path along the ocean was only a few blocks away, which was a big plus about this hotel.

Centrella Inn

Posted Feb 8, 2015 on Hotels.com
The Centrella is in a gracious Victorian walking distance from the ocean and shopping on the main Pacic Grove street. We stayed in one of the cottages, which was spacious and charming. Our issue though is that the bed was very soft, which resulted in sore backs for my husband and I. The staff told us that all the beds were the same. We stayed at the Centrella for two nights.
