Old hotel

Posted Dec 21, 2014
Pros: I did like that the hotel was quiet but that could because I went in the off season and it was not a lot of guest staying there at the time.
Cons: Pretty much everything.
Location: The location of the hotel was close to downtown plenty of restaurants and a few stores.
My experience with the hotel was not what I expected the hotel is very old from the carpet to the mirror on the closet doors to the whole bathroom.

Nice place close to old town and restaurants

Posted Dec 1, 2014
Pros: Updated rooms, comfy beds, great shower.
Cons: Signage directing people to take their breakfast to the deck area instead of congregating in and around the lobby. Could use a designated breakfast ar
Location: Walking distance to restaurants on Alvarado and convention center.
Very nice creekside location, deck for breakfast overlooking creek. Easy access to town, highway far enough away to avoid noise.

Close to the wharf

Posted Nov 23, 2014
This hotel is not anything to write home about. It really didn't feel any different than stay at a motel 6, except the size of the room was bigger. The thing best about this hotel is that it's within walking distance to the wharf & because everything in Monterey is paid parking with a 2 hour time limit this is a very nice feature.

Nice hotel close to old town Monterey.

Posted Nov 10, 2014
Arrived at 930 pm and the clerk was very nice and welcoming. There were fruit and cookies and hot water for tea. My room had a fireplace which made it feel nice and cosy. The building is old and not plush like Marriott, but I was there for a conference and didn't need fancy.Just needed a convenient and inexpensive place to sleep. Liked that the price was half of Marriott or Portola and parking was free. Room had a microwave and fridge too. Unfortunately the cable box was a bit c of using so I didn't get to see the local news before I fell asleep.

Nice hotel close to centre of Monterey

Posted Nov 3, 2014
Pros: Location
Cons: Breakfast was a little limited, but it was complimentary so I cant complain really.
Location: Wildlife / Whale watching. Big Sur nature reserves. Carmel. great stop en route from LA to San Francisco.
Great little inn within walking distance of the town centre, wharf / harbour, and a short drive away from Carmel and the Big Sur. Rooms were spacious and tidy, with refrigerator and microwave. Complimentary breakfast was limited, but as expected. Good value for money.

One night in Monterey

Posted Oct 30, 2014
Pros: Room was generous in size and clean. Everything was within walking distance.
Cons: WiFi only worked around reception. Sign post outside not too visible, if entering the car park do as a left hand turn.
Location: All the amenities of Monterey are fairly close bye, well within walking distance.
Pleasantly surprised with our late choice of hotel.

quick stop on way through

Posted Oct 23, 2014
Pros: the room was very big
Cons: coffee facilities in the room
Location: a 3 minute drive to cannery row where all the restaurants are located, and just about next to the Colton House
room was very big in size, a little dated in its style, but a good price and a good location. Huge beds, breakfast was unusual to be collected from reception, but the deck and furniture out the back was a really pleasant surrounding to eat at. Overall this is a perfectly ok place to stop, I would stay there again.
