Dated RoomsPosted Oct 6, 2014
Cons: Cleaner rooms and a room you could cool.
I happened to stay during a hot weekend. The room had no air conditioning, the room felt like a furnace. We were told to open a window to cool the room. There was a pile of laundry placed in the hall across from our front door.

Good family hotel with decent breakfast. Room is very clean. No air conditioning. But should not be a problem in Monterrey.

Lovely place to stayPosted Oct 5, 2014
Pros: The room was beautiful.
Cons: Closer to Cannery Row.....the eating district and shops.
Location: A cab ride cost us $15.00 to get to Cannery Row. The taxi driver was extremely helpful and directed us to a fantastic restaurant.
Lovely hotel. Clean and upscale. Nice breakfast. Friendly staff.

Good experience; minor glitches, great for familyPosted Sep 29, 2014
Pros: Quiet; nice area, clean. Courteous personnel; close by to everything you may need. Room has AC, fridge and microwave. Plenty of room and nice bath
Cons: A bit of cleaning on the vents would be appreciated; lamp lights from outside would flood the room, since there are no curtains but only shutters.
Location: Downtown is close by; there are 2 restaurants in almost walking distance (~ 1 mile): skip the airport one, go to the steak place; really nice!
I enjoyed the stay; the hotel is in a very quiet area, despite being close to an airport. Lots of green around and very pleasant. Close by you can find plenty, and downtown is 4 minutes away, literally. Breakfast is served in the small check-in area, won't fit many people but it was plenty if you go early. The room is large, there is also a desk, altho I prefer the armchair that was right beside it, to work comfortably with my laptop. The bathroom is good size and clean; just some dust on the vents. There is a timer heater in the bath, which is great. Overall the amenities were good; a bit old but is a nice contrast with the overall clean and modern look of the room. Furnitures were not ancient and the wall were nicely painted. Just beware of 2 things: the first is that you want a room upstairs; because if you stay downstairs, you will just hear people walking and the ceiling crackling. The second is that the shutters won't seal. so if your room is close by to a lamp post; the whole room gets plenty of light in. Nothing major, that a eye mask cannot fix, but for some could be bothersome. Parking was scarce, also the entrance on the lower rooms where the stairs are, feels a bit secluded; but there are plenty of lights so you feel safe overall. I would return there again; pleasant staff and nice place. A bit on the expensive side, but you pay for the area after all. Family friendly; kids won't have problems to enjoy the place; altho there is not much for them to do.

It was okay.Posted Aug 26, 2014 on Hotels.com
Overall this place is just okay. The AC did not work, but fortunately at night it cooled down enough to where we weren't miserable. There were stains on the chairs and curtains, and the bathroom was very outdated. The beds were comfortable, and hotel itself was in a decent enough area. The continental breakfast was mediocre at best. Selection was limited, some food was stale, and the "breakfast room" was TINY. There were so many people it was making me claustriphobic just being in there, so we only ate there 1 morning and decided to go out to breakfast after that. It's close to the airport so can be a bit noisy but we barely noticed. For paying $200 a night, I would have expected more. I probably wouldn't choose to stay here again, but it did it's job for the time being.

Out of the way in MontereyPosted Aug 26, 2014 on Hotels.com
This hotel is close to the airport, but pretty far from anything else. There are no places to dine or sights to see within walking distance. But, it is quiet and a fairly clean place. The hotel rooms themselves are a little dated and they lack air conditioning. While not normally a problem in Monterey, the rooms can get a bit stuffy and you really need to open the windows to cool off the room. I am not sure why, but the little alcove directly across from our room's door is the storage area for all the dirty laundry for the housekeeping staff. It seems a little odd to have to see a large pile of dirty laundry bags every time we opened our door. If you are attending any events at Laguna Seca, this is the closest hotel to the track.
