Great hotel for the price. Within walking distance to boardwalk and wharf. Breakfast was good and hotel employees were exceptionally nice.

well maintained and value for money hotelPosted Jan 5, 2015
Pros: clean, well maintained, helpful staff, value for money, high speed wifi, good tv channels, microwave in the room, hairdryer, spacious room.
Location: Santa Cruz Beachwalk, San Fransisco, Hearst Castle
I stayed there for a night from my San Fransisco trip. It took about 1.5 hour from SF to reach this hotel. The hotel condition is better than my expectations. It is not that new but well maintained and clean. My room was located at 3rd floor (highest floor). Rooms are spacious and comfy. They provide small dining table, working table, balcony (view is not that fantastic from my room though), high speed wifi in room, hairdryer, microwave, and quite a number of good TV channels. They provide breakfast too although not many choices but it's better than nothing. They have small swimming pool and 2 hot tubs outdoor. I would definitely book this hotel again when I am traveling to Big Sur or San Fransisco again.

Its about what you expected for the price.Posted Jan 5, 2015
Pros: Conveniently located and the price is reasonable for a three-stared motel.
Cons: Sound proofing the walls.
Location: Closed to UC Santa Cruz and the waterfront/beach area, though not within walking distance to the beach.
It is clean and the room is large enough to have two queen size beds, small table for two and a desk to work. Check in was a breeze as I had already paid for it prior to arriving. The continental breakfast was good and had a number of choices to pick from. The bed is comfortable for the price. The only down side is that I could hear the talking from the room next to mine. The walls do not have very good sound insulation. Other than that, I am pleased with this motel for the price I paid for.

Good for Beach VacationPosted Jan 5, 2015
Pros: location and room size
Cons: The toilet is small and old. everthing else is good to us.
Location: It is located in residential area. You will have to drive to commercial area to eat, if you plan to stay few days.
My family were on the UC campuses touring around San Francisco Bay area for child's future college. Santa Cruz is one of our over night stop. We were looking for a in expensive place to stay. This hotel location is not adjacent to Beach, but it is not far to walk to the beach and Santa Cruz pier where you have to pay for parking. The room is bigger than normal size. Room has extra bay with a table for 4 persons to play poker. Hotel is quietly hided in residential community. The continental breakfast has cheezy egg, yogers, bannana & apple, milk, coffee, waffle and tost, of couse coffee. The toilet is the smallest one that we have seen.

Thin wallsPosted Jan 5, 2015
Worse night sleep ever. Shady folks above us kept us up most of the night. They were not super loud but the thin walls and thin floors made it a horrible experience.

MistakePosted Dec 29, 2014
First night was OK - 2nd night we had 'neighbors' upstairs. I called the front desk at 1:00 a.m. to complain. But we could hear them just walking around.

Convenient, but smellsPosted Dec 27, 2014
Staff was helpful, room was cozy and love that there are 2 hot tubs and the convenient location. However, the rooms are supposed to be all non-smoking and our room smelled like cigarettes, so we kept sneezing. And the hotel is dog friendly, which may contribute to the horrible smell.
