“Budget motel in awesome location”
We loved the location of this motel because we could walk to Asilomar Beach and back easily. The motel is an older property, so the rooms were small and the ceiling seemed very flimsy, but it was very clean and well maintained. Continental breakfast was nothing spectacular: toast; muffins; two kinds of cereal and orange juice; coffee. Lots of yummy restaurants nearby, however.
“QUIET AND COMFORTABLE!”
Our wedding party stayed at the Deer Haven Inn for the weekend. We were all impressed by the courteous and helpful service of everyone at the front desk. The rooms were not lavish, but very cozy and comfortable, with queen sized beds and a fireplace. The rooms were clean and the housekeepers were considerate and efficient. There was a potentially stressful situation when the power in the entire Pacific Grove area went off for tro hours. The management handled the crisis well and quickly provided flashlights and candles to the guests. I would definitely recommend the Deer Haven Inn to others.
“You get what you pay for”
The hotel is run down. We were given room 114, right next to the street. The first morning at 3:00 a.m. the deisel trucks lined 20 feet from our room up going into Asilomar. I asked to be moved and was told that it is usually not like that. The next night they checked in two families with small hyper children right above us. The next two mornings one of the dads was up at 3:00 a.m. to go running. Bsically they were rude and thought they were the only ones at the hotel. The iron in the room was nasty! Burned, corroded and plugged. So I called to get another. About an hour later after a second phone call, the front desk guy showed up talking smack about the slow house keepers. The carpet is very dirty looking, the room has many little things that need attention. Like I said, "You get what you pay for" Next time I will pay more to get a better place.
“great”
great place to stay!
“Pleasant motel across from Asilomar”
Comfortable beds, fireplace and across the street from Asilomar and nice ocean walks. Asilomar has nice grounds and gift shop. I saw 4 deer and a wedding in progress during my stay.
“Clean but Horrible condition”
The hotel is nicely located and near the beach. The rooms are horrible. Furniture is old, bedspreads are nasty and everything looks old and dingy. Carpets need replacing, I would never consider staying here again unless they remodel the rooms.
“An okay hotel.”
I spent two nights at the Deer Haven Inn. If you're looking for a place to just sleep at night...this is perfect for the price you pay. If you plan on spending immense amounts of time in the hotel, I would choose a different one. There were carpet stains in our carpet, and the shower took about 5 minutes to warm up. Other than that, I don't have many complaints. The Inn staff was very friendly and helpful, but I definitely think the conditions of the Inn could be improved.
“A darn good value”
Great location and great price for this hotel - nothing amazing, just good value!
“Would likely go back”
Deer Haven Inn is comfortable but a little tired. I would have liked having a refrigerator and microwave in the room. The Wifi is 802.11b. Moving up to 802.11g makes sense in (it is the latter half of 2011 after all).
“Inexpensive and accordingly nice.”
Clean and comfortable and nice quiet location right near the beach and right off the 17 mile drive. You get what you pay for and for the money this place was very nice.
