Our Mini Vacation at the Dream Inn

Posted Jun 29, 2015
Pros: The service and the 60's style. I've always wanted to stay at The Dream Inn and it was very nice.
Location: Restaurants, Warf, Boardwalk.
We arrived at check-in time and our room was ready and Tim helped us unload our stuff and we went to our room overlooking the ocean and it was clean and comfortable. Spent a couple of days walking to the Boardwalk and Warf and then spent an afternoon at the pool. The staff was friendly and helpful and when we were ready to check out our car was waiting for us. Nice place and relaxing time. Great for families and we could walk to the beach, boardwalk, restaurants etc. Will go back again!

Down, down, down graded room

Posted Jun 28, 2015
Be aware "since you booked room through Expedia you only have access to two types of rooms", we were told upon check in "unless you pay an additional $60 +taxes and fees to upgrade. Both rooms were not in the tower building but in an out building surrounding the pool, next to elevators and were handicap rooms. Also after paying $341 per night there is a $25 fee per night to park car in hotel lot. Not, Not, Not a pleasant experience due to lack of sleep.

The listened and bought new pool towels!

Posted Jun 24, 2015
Pros: Location to pool & beach.
Cons: Hotel staff friendliness and hotel cleanliness.
This is our 2nd stay at this hotel. We stayed last week and the pool was constantly out of towels. I told the hotel staff at our checkout and made a post on Expedia. We went back to the hotel on Monday for a night and they bought new towels! Great to see they listened and acted so quickly! This hotel has an Expedia VIP+, but we didn't receive any benefits on our 2nd stay. I asked at checkout and the male receptionist said we just got a good rate (it was higher than we paid last week). During our stay last week, we were told we had $25/night to spend on food or drinks from booking via Expedia. Seems like the staff is unclear or switching things as they wish.

A Disappointing Experience

Posted Jun 22, 2015
Pros: Right on the beach, where we could sleep to the sound of the surf, despite all the other noise noted above.
Cons: Décor, room cleanliness, new mattresses!
Location: The Boardwalk, with a great, safe place for kids; the wharf. Otherwise, not a great area, fairly rundown.
For the money we had to pay over Fathers' Day weekend, we were VERY disappointed with this hotel. It IS right on the beach and we slept to the sound of the surf all night, so that was great . . . HOWEVER, do not expect a four-star experience, despite the price. The room was smaller than expected with a beat up small refrigerator sitting on the floor, not even in the cubbyhole provided for it. The mattress was worn out, the décor was tired, the lighting was poor, although the bathroom was nicely remodeled with a makeup mirror and good lighting. We were going to overlook all of that for the calming sound of the surf when late Friday afternoon, the bandstand a half-mile down the beach at the Boardwalk started up with a beginner band amped up so high that the glass in the sliding door shook. My husband went downstairs to talk to the manager, who, of course, had no control over the Boardwalk, but she did book us a nice table for dinner in their Aquarius restaurant. Be warned about that, too. Again, despite high prices, the food was poor and a couple of the dishes unrecognizable. Saturday morning, hoping to sleep in, we were awakened by a loud grinding sound at 7 a.m. It was the city's beach-grooming machine, which droned on and on, hour after hour, over that rather small stretch of beach. The staff was .friendly, the room service was prompt, and if you get a room on a high floor in the tower, on a weekday instead of a weekend, you'll have an acceptable stay, but beware.

Great location, with easy access to the beach and wharf. Only con is the pool can be very crowded when the hotel is at full capacity. The staff and guests were all pleasant, though. Lots of families with young children. If you're looking for an adult getaway, maybe not the place for you.

Great hotel, especially for kids. Staff very helpful, courteous and accommodating. The staff was fabulous from valet to housekeeping to front desk. Valet parking isn't free- which I found out after checking out. There is a lot across the street for self parking. However, it was GREAT that they kept my car in the closely watched valet lot even after we had checked out and visited the boardwalk. Nice pool right next to a good beach with volleyball courts. Fun stay- recommend for sure!

Great ocean front hotel

Posted Jun 17, 2015
Pros: My favorite part about this hotel is the pool area. It has a glass wall to cut out the wind and you can hear the waves crashing a few feet away.
Cons: Room service missed a few items on some of our orders, but were quick to correct
Location: Walking distance to the Wharf full of restaurants and to the Beach Boardwalk full of rides and games.
This is our second trip to this hotel. The location right on the beach is perfect. All room are ocean front and the view is amazing!!
