This used to be a nice place to stay...

Pros: There's a Chili's Bar & Grill in the same parking lot; complimentary breakfast and happy hour are great; it's close to everything.
Cons: Go back to no-charge parking and service the rooms properly.
Location: The hotel is in a great location. Fisherman's Wharf, the Aquarium, 17-Mile drive and Pebble Beach are all within a few short minute drive.
First off, I paid a hefty price for a Friday - Sunday stay and was expecting nothing short of the usual quality I've experienced with Embassy Suites. I've stayed here a few other times and liked it, but it now seems like it is going down hill. Apparently, they decided last year to begin charging $10 a night for parking; wifi is not free either. The shower is great if you don't mind standing in the filth you just cleansed from your body since the tub does not drain. It seriously took 30 minutes after I shut the water off for the tub to empty. The room felt very humid and the carpet felt damp. The thermostat read 68 degrees, but there's no way in hell that is true. I set the thermostat to 65 and the room never did cool off so I spent both nights sleeping on top of the bed with the fan running on high. Don't pay the extra money for the Ocean View unless you get a room on a high floor.

Embassy Suites Hotel

Posted Jul 21, 2014
Pros: decor and room size
Cons: Service
Location: Seaside, Ca. Near Monterey and Carmel
Our stay was pleasant and all staff very friendly and helpful. Only problem was amenities --- we had 4 to a suiite and they only gave us towels for three---same with drinking glasses. Next day after maid service glasses picked up but none replaced. We used hide-a-bed but no linens or pillows in room for it. Blankets sent up and one had a hole in it size of 50 cent piece.. Seemed we had to call for everything we needed.decor

Great alternative to congested, downtown hotel

Posted Jul 21, 2014
Pros: Comfortable accommodations, convenient, great breakfast buffet, helpful staff; great location by the water.
Cons: The building is aging, guessing 20 years old. Could use some investment for a a more modern look and feel (paint, courtyard furniture, game room)
Location: Located between the cities of Monterey and Santa Cruz, allowing quick access to the entire Monterey Bay with minimal hassle of traffic, parking, etc
Stayed a week, enjoyed the service and convenience very much, would definitely stay there again.

I really enjoyed my weekend trip. The breakfast was amazing. I just didn't like the facility overall as I feel it's old and needs updating. The palm trees inside the hotel look sad. I keep wondering if they are real or fake.

Great service but aging property

The hotel staff provided great service. This was the highlight. But there were adding facilities such as rusted and loose bathroom fixtures. Also the sofa bed was really uncomfortable.

Spent our 47th Wedding Anniversary there was great

Pros: Great location, bed was very comfortable had no problem sleeping. Really liked the separate bedroom and separate sitting room.
Cons: Update the furniture. Be able to check in before 4pm. Have a late night snack bar where you can get coffee etc.
Location: Plenty of places to eat, real close to Monterey away from all the busy areas. Very relaxing stay.
It was a great stay. They upgraded us to an ocean view which I very much wanted. View was beautiful. Weather was great. Staff was great really enjoyed Happy hour and the free breakfast buffet. However the rooms look a lot nicer on the internet than in person. I was a bit disappointed really expected it to be a lot fancier for the price. But we still enjoyed ourselves room was clean and that what was important. Waited until 10 to go in the pool since it was adults only at that time and since the pool was inside thought it was heated since it was 59 degrees outside but no luck. It was cold and to many people were in the hot tub with the door opened. So we skipped that.
