Not what I expected for being a Hilton

Pros: The beds were comfortable enough.
Cons: The disposition of the staff. The corridors are very long...put the ice machine closer...
Location: Fairly close to downtown Monterey and the freeway, overall nice and convienent location.
Staff was rude when I checked in. Had to pay for parking , was told to park out back...guess I needed to pay for an upgraded suite to be able to park in the GARAGE parking. The toilet in my room had been previously used not flushed and left with the lid down for a nice surprise when I checked in.Signs for an ice machine were posted clearly in the hall..too bad I couldnt find one any where remotely close to my room. Could have stayed at a motel 6 and would have never been able to tell the difference.

Nice overall stay. Room kinda small. Not comfy beds or pillows . Loved the pool and fire pit by the pool very nice .

The hotel's quality compared to other hiltons is below its standards. The price we paid for one night should provide you with proper glasses & cups not paper cups which are not helping the environment also. Very tight space. Showers clogged up. & in the lobby along with coffee some light breakfast stuff. The customers feel welcomed. Most hotels are providing these days. FYI!

Check in was fine, staff was friendly. Parking was awkward; spaces were pretty small and as a hotel guest, we still had to pay $14 for parking. There was no ice machine but an ice bucket was in the room. Restroom floors were dirty and stained. Towels were very hard and just overall, everything was not what I expected from a hilton hotel.

The hotel is nice , however we got the back room facing the highway and it was very noisy and the fridge in the room was making a lot of noise too - which was bothersome during the night ! But it's conveniently located !

Great hotel for families.

We were worried about bringing our one year old but the staff was very friendly and accommodating to our needs. Pool was heated enough for a baby to swim in and clean towels were always available.

The hotel looks olds and smells old. We found some ants in the bathroom. The hotel needs a face lift.

The three star hotel that Could'nt

Pros: I like the convenience of where the hotel was located.
Cons: I believe the hotel should stop charging for parking and I believe that they should provide a nice complementary breakfast for all guest.
Location: We enjoyed the travel to Pebble Beach, Big Sur with the mountains and also Santa Cruz.
My wife and I Took a June vacation from Texas, we were pleased with the General location of the hotel very convenient to stores and major Transit routes. The accommodations were okay but it seems as though the hotel needs some updating as far as amenities, luxuries and room appearance. My wife and I also didn't appreciate being charged a parking fee to park at a hotel that we are booked at we think about was ridiculous my wife and I also didn't appreciate being charged a parking fee to park at a hotel that we are booked at, no free breakfast was a bummer, being charged $14 for breakfast and a $14 parking fee daily is just seems inappropriate. I also believe that the TVs should be at a higher quality for this level of hotel .

Family fun experience!

Such a great place to stay, family friendly, great staff, great accommodations & ammenities. just overall experience was the best. We usually stay at portola hotel and spa for our trips to Monterey, but this time we decided on Hilton Garden Inn, me and my family were very pleased ! We definitely will not be returning to portola. Beds are comfortable, rooms are spacious and have AC, we had a pool view from our room. The pool area is inviting and we also loved the gym. Only thing I would change next stay would be requesting to stay on the top floor for a little more quiet ness, people above us just kept stomping and slamming everything in the early morning.
