“Very nice hotel but in a really bad run-down neighborhood!!”

The hotel was really nice and very clean plus it had a fabulous continental/hot breakfast, but it's not in a good part of town. There's lots of homeless people and several people drugged out who were wandering all around the outside of the hotel all 3 days we were there.

“Great place in Santa Cruz”

Fun breakfast -- the pancake machine was a hoot. The staff was nothing short of awesome. The room was beautiful and kept spotless. We were in Santa Cruz to volunteer for the Surf City AIDS Ride and coming back to our room was wonderful after a long day of hard work. The only less than perfect thing was that the furniture was a little firm...but I wouldn't say it was uncomfortable.

“Huge room, Not enough parking”

The room was gigantic and easily fit all three adults staying there. The shower itself could have used a little more light, but everything was clean. Breakfast was excellent and the hotel was only a mile from downtown and 2 miles from the Boardwalk. Highly recommend cabbing to either location as there was NO parking left by the time we returned late Friday night. Poor parking used up several spaces and it was unclear if parking was allowed on Ocean street, but that was the only hiccup in our stay.

“A noisy but clean,nice hotel”

Hi, I loved staying at this new hotel in Santa Cruz. it was convenient, clean, and the free breakfast was great. Unfortunately, the walls are paper thin, and the doors do not have a "slow down" mechanism, and therefore slam loudly and frequently. I was able to hear the gentleman in the next room urinating, hacking, and spitting. ugh! It was close to the beach. Again, unfortunately, the "girls" at the front desk had no idea about directions or recommendations. Not even maps of the area!!!! I had not been there before, and was looking forward to exploring and having some great seafood. I later found out about a lot of things that I had missed~but I did have a great time with what I could find on my own.

We stayed for 1 night. The hotel is clean and the staff was very friendly. Room was small but clean. The room did not come with a refrigerator. But did have free internet.

“Not Impressed!”

Be careful to not get into a wreck getting into the parking lot of just off the street. Parking is terrible, small and limited. Wi-fi costs you. NO Movies...no Pay per view, nothing but local TV. After a day at play I like a hot shower, good food and a movie. i would not return if it was free. Maybe its because its an Express Inn...?

“Extremely satisfied with this hotel”

We are so pleased with this hotel. It's a new hotel in a town where everything else is old. Very clean and comfortable room. Breakfast was great....coffee was pretty good too. Sausage, eggs, pancakes, cinnamon rolls, cereal, yogurt, bagels, toast, biscuits and gravy. We will definitely stay here again!

Really great hotel. Clean comfortable room,courteous helpful staff, wonderful breakfasts every day. We couldn't ask for anything more!
