Wonderful boutique hotel close to Cannery Row

Posted Jul 19, 2014
Our stay in Monterey was wonderfully complemented by the excellent customer service, exceptional complimentary breakfast, and uniquely decorated lobby and rooms. Furthermore, Hotel 1110 afforded us easy walking access to Cannery Row and Fisherman's Wharf. The ultimate perk: wine and appetizers while enjoying the view from the 4th floor bar.

Small and noisy - be warned

Posted Jul 6, 2014
Pros: You will enjoy breakfast and the rooftop lounging area, but that is it.
Cons: Parking space is needed, and an air conditioner could mask some of the traffic noise. Nothing can be done about the tiny room.
Location: On a main street with lots of traffic. Beach is nearby.
The room is very small, so we had no room to move. No air conditioning, so we had to sleep with the windows open. That meant that the traffic noise (this hotel is on a main thoroughfare) kept us awake. Parking is also a problem.

Relaxing atmosphere

Posted Jul 3, 2014
Pros: Quiet, clean and comfortable...quaint.
Cons: More updated bathrooms. Expect to park on the side streets but not a problem. Front location is on the main busy street across from the beach.
Location: Close to Fisherman's Wharf. Cannery Row and the Monterey Aquarium...in long walking distance.
Staff was exceptionally nice and welcoming. Excellent breakfast and great rooftop view with comfortable seating. Good complimentary drinks and appetizers..also ordered different types which were very tasty and well presented.

Funky Lille place in Monterrey.

Posted Jul 2, 2014
Cool theme but the room was tiny. The hanging glass night stands by the bed would not hold anything as well as the glass shelf (bad idea) in the bath tub. Reasonable hotel at the last minute and did not have to pay resort fee or for parking. Breakfast was a nice touch DNS the bartender on rooftop was freimdly and recommended Monterrey fish house which was great

Overbooked, owner found hotel further away

Posted Jun 26, 2014
Cons: They don't overbook and if they do, then they come out of pocket the difference to keep you in the same vicinity that you booked, not 10 miles away.
Hotel 1110 overbooked and I did not get a room. It was not for lack of trying. I arrived in Monterey for my conference before noon and went to the hotel to assure my room availability. I was advised by a person I now understand to be one of the owners that I could return and complete registration at 3:00 p.m. He noted my presence on the reservation with my name on it. As I promised, I returned from the first day of my conference at approximately 6:30 p.m. and was met at the desk by a woman who I now understand was another owner, expressed gratitude at my arrival stating she had spent all afternoon trying to find me another hotel. I quickly learned that, in spite of my early arrival, all rooms had been filled by their overbooking. In hotel parlance, I was being "walked" to another place which had a vacancy. Their place to "walk" me was over the hill to the south in Carmel, about 10 miles farther away from my conference location in Seaside to the north. I firmly recommend Hofsas House in Carmel. The room was clean, needed no repairs, had unusual furniture in a common sized room. The walk to Carmel's Ocean Ave shops and restaurants is very short. The website fairly describes it. There was no sort of compensation offered for my inconvenience.

We are gratified that you liked our choice of relocation, unfortunately seldom as a small hotel runs into this problem and will do our best to find suitable alternative. Thank you for your understanding.

Picturesque town and hotel to match.

Posted Jun 26, 2014
Pros: Location and handy street parking. Walked into town and had a great meal.
Cons: No hairdryer.
Little extras made the stay extremely rewarding - being shown to room, drinks in the evening, breakfast (trying to emulate it at home now!)

Internet Pictures Misleading

Posted Jun 24, 2014
We were very disappointed upon our arrival to the hotel. The room was the size of a walk in closet. It was horrible! The hotel Representatives would not accommodate us unless we were willing to pay extra. The hotel was the size of a 6 family apartment building. The description and pictures on the internet were very misleading.

Our rooms sizes and location is disclosed on our web site and all vendors web sites. Rooms on each floor has different price as stated and change requires additional fees. All pictures are true and there is no rendering of any sort.

Quirky name - boutique feel

Posted Jun 10, 2014
Pros: Friendly staff and comfortable bed; sadly I only managed to sample the excellent breakfast on 2 of the 5 days I stayed.
Cons: A side table by the side of the bed would be nice; earlier availability of coffee.
Location: Great location across the road from the beach and a pleasant walk to the centre of Monterey
I stayed for 5 nights to attend a conference - would have been an ideal hotel for a romantic leisurely break.

Our experience was wonderful. It has the feel of a European style boutique, and we will be back.
