Great and unique hotel with "character."Posted Mar 2, 2014
Pros: Great view of the ocean from the roof patio.
This was a really fun hotel in which to stay, something I didn't really know was possible. It is really unique and personable, not some faceless, corporate, run-of-the-mill hotel like the Marriotts, Sheratons, Hiltons, Four Seasonses, or Ritz-Carltons of the world... The view from the roof patio was really nice. There's even a grill up there!

Charming. Walking distance to the wharf and trailsPosted Feb 17, 2014
Wonderful staff were friendly and helpful. The happy hour and breakfasts were wonderful. Rooms are small but cozy. Thought we would have a king size bed in our "suite" but it turned out to be a full size bed in one room and a twin pull out in the other. They need a better way to explain that.

If I were you I'd consider shopping aroundPosted Feb 17, 2014
Pros: The bed was really comfortable. The two-course breakfast was very good. Owner's wife was very nice and helpful The roof deck had a great view.
Cons: The walls are SO thin. Some sound-proofing would go a long way. The Owner guy's attitude and lack of personability left much to be desired.
We just returned home from our stay here for Valentine’s Day/President’s Day weekend and, in all honesty, I wasn’t really impressed. The walls really are paper thin. If you are looking for a quiet room to retreat to, I would not suggest this establishment. We were placed in room 101 (the accessible room) that, no exaggeration, opens into the lobby. Okay, maybe that was slightly exaggerated, you have to walk across a three foot hallway and THEN you are in the lobby. That said, we could hear all of the lobby activity from the radio being turned on and the staff beginning their breakfast preparation activities at 7:30 every morning to the folks hanging out at the bar until 10:30-11 at night. I mean, I love Celine Dion as much as the next girl but I'm on vacay and Celine at 7:30am is a bit much.

More character than comfortPosted Feb 15, 2014
Pros: The location, the breakfasts, the shower
Cons: They need chairs, dresser and/or desk in the rooms; and bath mats. (I asked for one on the third day, and the innkeeper was happy to provide one.)
Location: Convenient location in downtown Monterey, close to the Wharf, Cannery Row and the Aquarium. Carmel, Big Sur, missions, 17 Mile Drive.
The staff is friendly and the breakfasts each morning were excellent. We liked the European shower and bidet. The room was extremely small, with just a wardrobe and no closet. We asked for an upgraded king room. There was no dresser, no chairs, and no vanity in the bathroom. There was no surface except the floor on which to place electronics for charging. With just a pedestal sink, it was hard to plug in a curling iron or hot rollers. The roof deck would have been lovely in better weather.

Hotel 1110Posted Feb 8, 2014
The room was comfortable. The setting was in a very good location, walking distance from fishermen's wharf and cannery row. The Hotel itself is very charming. The staff is excellent. My Wife and I were made to feel very welcome. Nick cooks a very good breakfast.

Cute hotel across from the beach.Posted Jan 28, 2014
We really enjoyed our stay at Hotel 1110. The rooms were pretty small, but the overall experience was great. It's a family run hotel and the owners are very nice and welcoming. Their free breakfast was the best hotel breakfast I have had! Their rooftop overlooks the ocean and there is nice seating up there with heated lamps. The beach is across the street and Fisherman's Warf is within walking distance with a nice path that takes you there. If you are looking for a friendly, low key, shabby chic place to stay, this is a good choice.

Nice boutique hotel near fisherman's wharfPosted Jan 24, 2014
Pros: Amazing amenities! Complimentary drink during the hotel happy hour with snacks. Roof top view of the bay. Breakfast was made fresh!
Cons: Good as is
Location: The wharf/piers are a short walk away. The beach is extremely close. If you're a runner, the bay trail runs right next to the hotel
