The location was convenient

Posted Oct 18, 2014
Pros: Great and accommodating staff--good service. Comfortable and quiet. Fun outside fireplaces and free shuttle
Cons: Coffee. for property of this level they need to invest in decent in-room Keurig or other better coffee with real creamer (not powdered)
Location: convenient to airport
Great staff! Incorrect information from the person I booked with on the phone, and the staff at the hotel was wonderful. They make accommodations so that I did not incur additional and unexpected cost. it was quiet, and would be great for a family or golfers!

Built in the late 60s, but still a nice property.

Pros: The setting is pretty and relaxing and convenient to tourist attractions in Monterey. Hand held shower is nice. Conference center is close to rooms.
Cons: Deep cleaning - scrubbing grout & staining nicks in cabinets. In conference center, building diagram is over stairs, so it is hard to read where to go
Location: Seaside Beach was nice. Enjoyed the Old Wharf and downtown Monterey. Pacific Grove is close, as is Carmel.
The front desk and cleaning staff are kind and conscientious. The bar area in the lobby area is warm and inviting. The buildings are pretty and have a classic design. We enjoyed the property even though it is old (it has been updated) as it is in a beautiful setting, but Hyatt, given their renovation investment in this property, probably should spend a bit more on keeping what they have nicely maintained. This property seems to be geared to conferences, so the rooms have a business-oriented feeling.

Rooms are older and need upgrading

Posted Oct 17, 2014
Cons: Manager on duty could have shown his face and not leave the young desk clerk to handle a reservation error.
I had booked a suite overlooking the golf course. I got a room next to the pool. My reservations were all wrong .. Not impressed with how this was handled. I should have been compensated for the wrong room (lesser quality) and waiting at the front desk for 20 minutes or more while they tried to figure out what went wrong with their system.

Nice, clean hotel. Nothing special about it.

It is an older facility that has been properly maintained. Most of the rooms have balconies or patios with parking lot views. Be aware that even when prepaying in full for your room on Expedia that you will be charged an additional $20/night resort fee upon check out. It is NOT included in your room rate. The rooms only have portable air conditioners & a fan. The rooms were comfy & updated. You had to drive 10 minutes to get to any of the attractions like the aquarium or Cannery Row. I have stayed in much nicer places, but this was quite adequate for the $150/night I paid. It was a much better deal than the cannery row hotels which are very expensive, as long as you don't mind a quick car ride. This facility felt like it was designed for conferences more than the tourist. The rooms were clean & well equipped, it just lacked charm or character.

Great for Golfers, a distance from town

Posted Oct 14, 2014
Pros: Staff
Cons: Furniture touch up would be nice.
Location: Cannery Row, Pebble Beach
Recommend for golfers or people with car as there is a distance to Cannery Row area. We were on a "girls getaway" and it worked out fine. The advertising does not imply the distance from downtown. They do offer a shuttle. Easy access from Freeway. Friendly and helpful staff. Requests for extra towls, cups were handled promptly and graciously. Valet parking included is a plus as parking lots can be full on weekends.

Pros: Good location for tourists and quite location.
Cons: Remodel the room only. new carpet in the hallways.
Hotel was dated, the king size bed was old and had a dip on both sides it was very uncomfortable. The bath room was nice but the room itself needed new bed, carpet and TV. The hallways had and old musty smell to them.

Busy = room across from freeway.

Posted Oct 9, 2014
We have stayed here multiple times, but this will be our last. When not crowded, we had peaceful stay with golf course views. During this last visit we were placed literally across from the freeway with "party" travelers above and beside us. With three young children we had very little sleep and once again felt like we were in college dorms.

Was nice but......

Posted Oct 7, 2014
Rooms were very nice but.....Booking by 3rd party did not guarantee the king bed I thought I reserved and did not include the resort fee. Boo for that. I also booked here for the AC and didn't get room with AC, but when asked the friendly staff quickly accommodated us. Parking was not great and who wants a patio facing the parking lot? Not me. Not for that price.
