Monterey Bay

Posted Apr 16, 2014
Our room looked out upon trees reminding us that we did, in fact, arrive in Northern California. The staff were very friendly and efficient. From the front desk greeter, to the nice men who lugged our luggage, to the room service server, to the server for dinner in the fireside lounge, to the bellman who called us a taxi, to housekeeper who was very cheerful, to the checkout at front desk. Their customer service was impeccable. We had nice high ceilings and a balcony in our spacious room. The paintings/photographs were all of nature and very nurturing. Very clean. The pools were very nice. We enjoyed relaxing by them. Sad we missed the opportunity to hang our by the firepit. We had our puppy with us. Luckily, behind our building, was a short and picturesque walk just for doggies. Took a taxi into Monterey for a day at the aquarium. Drove to Carmel the next day to see the cute village and white sand beach. Very close to all the touristy attractions. NOTE: Ask nicely for a room away from freeway noise. We believe that's what made our trip even better!

Quiet location close to harbour

Posted Apr 14, 2014
Pros: Location, special pricing.
Location: 5 minute drive to Fisherman's Wharf and Cannery Row.
Just staying overnight and enjoying the harbour area of Monterey. Ate dinner at the hotel, while not exotic food was quite good. Room was comfortable and overlooked a golf course.

Bring Your Wallet

Pros: The staff.
Cons: Fix what is broken.
The room appeared nice. A lot of little things needed fixing, closets wouldn't close. Dresser draws runners were broken and open since they would not close correctly. An electrical outlet where you can plug in the coffee pot was falling off it mountings. The windows were filthy. For the amount of money you pay for the room, you would think they would offer breakfast. They do not. The staff were nice, which was the only saving grace of the place.

Very old hotel

Nothing special about this hotel. Very old hotel Partially renovated, but still doesn't look nice. This hotel charges $20.00 of the resort fee.

The bathroom privacy is horrible.

Posted Apr 8, 2014
The bathroom door is a pocket sliding door without a lock and smokey glass. If you turn the bathroom light on at night it lit up the entire room waking everyone up. The beds were very uncomfortable. Very small for two adults to sleep comfortably. No microwave. TV had very limited channels. Pool was heated which was nice. Lounge was very overpriced for the drinks.

Luxurious resort Experience

Posted Apr 8, 2014
Pros: The rooms were spacious and the TV was large and did not limit the volume level. The Pool area is perfect and there are nice sun shelters cabanas.
Cons: The food was just adequate.
Location: Everything that Monterey has to offer is easily accessible.
2 nights in a large room with 2 queen beds. Well appointed room with a great bathroom. Quiet location in unit 3. Pool and hot tub were superb but watch out the deck is slippery when wet. Plenty of towels at the pool. Nice warm swimming pool and perfect hot tub. The service in the bar area was understaffed and the kitchen took a long time to put out a 9:pm dinner. Comped a glass of wine as it was quite a ridiculous wait. Carl and the wait staff staff in the main dining room were very friendly and professional. Just far enough away from the aquarium to be a smoking deal, maybe a 10 minute drive. Will certainly return. Rooms around the pool are priced higher than those facing the parking area. Nice time.

The newly remodeled hotel is gorgeous! I would highly recommend staying here. Very comfortable, centrally located but secluded.
