“It was "ok", staff was friendly....”

Hotel staff was very friendly. GREAT location, about a 1-2 minute walk to the boardwalk. It wasnt really upgraded, didnt have a "clean" feel to it but definately wasnt filthy, didnt feel comfortable walking around with no shoes on. The "second bedroom" was like a big closet, no windows, key lock on the door instead of a doorknob, nobody wanted to sleep in that room, it was a bit scary, not even sure if it was a legal room with no windows?? Overall it was ok, I probably wouldnt stay there again unless everything else was sold out but if you just want to be close to the boardwalk its a good place to stay.

“Hotel ok. Area bad”

The room was clean our room was good size and the staff was very nice and helpful. It was hard to fine. It was close to the boardwalk, you could walk to it but I wouldn't want to walk the streets to get to it. The area left alot to be desired. I won't go back to Santa Cruz and I won't recomend it either.

“Good Value in Santa Cruz”

Average hotel for a very good price in Santa Cruz. The location was good; it is a few blocks from the Boardwalk/Beach, and then several more from the Municipal Wharf. The neighborhood surrounding the hotel was fine to walk in after dark, as we did around 11:30 PM. The neightborhood is more residential. The hotel room was a nice surprise, as I thought it would be worse for the price paid. Basic amenities, but the rooms come with a refrigerator, microwave, Heat/AC, TV, safe, table and two chairs, alarm clock, and a queen bed. The bed is a little on the hard side, but doable. The hotel is a little hard to find and off the beaten path, but is a very good value. The gentleman who checked us in and out was very friendly; that is always nice, and it means a good deal to travelers. The hotel and area felt very safe. Did not use the pool, but it looked clean. Parking is limited i the parking lot, but street parking is available; again, it seems like a very safe neighborhood. Breakfast is coffee/tea, juice, cereal, and cut-up muffins; enough, and free. if I visit Santa Cruz again, I will consider Knight's Inn, as it is a very good value.

“Extreme Disappointment - Stolen From”

Upon check-in, the clerk was very helpful and kind. What a shroud! First off, there is limited parking. Only a handful of parking spots in the lot. The city does not allow parking on the street. However, management will provide it's customers with a permit. My displeasure lies in the fact that my GPS was stolen in the room. I had it locked inside the room's safe. Upon preparing to leave, I noticed my GPS was gone. I quickly contacted the owner and asked if he had a master code. He said he did. He thought I forgot my combo and needed it unlocked. I then told him what had happened and he then back tracked stating he would have to pull the combo out from his file cabinet as it had been so long since he needed it. He hoped he could find it if needed. He no longer wished to discuss the matter. But I knew 100% that it was in there. So I told him I was going to be a few minutes late leaving as I had spent more time discussing this with him and needed to finish packing. He said that was fine. In minutes I received a call in my room reminding me to check out. That was insulting. Upon leaving I asked him to check with the maids but he said they would not take it since they worked together. He claims that all self-check each other. So if one stole then all would be fired. Not logical! He also said he was the only person on site with the master lock. He knew we would be at the beach and I am sure I understand what happened to my GPS. They were in a hurry to check us out. Go elsewhere!!

The rooms were nice. The service was very friendly. I would definitely stay there again.

“Not a good experience”

The clerk was very helpful at checkin. But the office closed by 9:25 PM and they didn't answer their phone after that. There is no parking and street parking is by permit only. The room had a sign that you could only run one appliance at at time (such as hair dryer, refrigerator, airconditioner or TV). Internet service was lousy and slow. To be fair, the room was clean and the shower worked well. Located just a couple of blocks from the Boardwalk. But it was not worth anything like what it cost.

“Bare bones but clean and close to the Boardwalk.”

Given overpriced options by the beach/ Boardwalk, this fits the bill if you have minimal expectations and want a safe clean room close to the rides at a good rate.

“Not Much for the Price.”

The only one pro of this hotel is the fact that is is walking distance to the pier. For the price paid, there was no shampoo provided, only face soap. The fridge was non functional and the room did not even include a coffee pot. The hotel was filled with loud screaming kids and either the ceiling is thin or the person above me weighed 500lbs. Parking is another problem, there is only about 10 parking spots considering there is about 30 rooms. Others have to park on the street which requires a permit during the day and the hotel did not have enough permits to lend out for all the residents.
