Hmm. Not quite the Marriott you would expectPosted Jul 21, 2015
I'm not a negative person so I will write as fair as I can. The front desk staff I think is over worked and most have a scratchy personality. They are not there for your best interest. Not much inclusive benefits you'd expect. They really try to pinch every penny from you. Paying a lot in this area already and this behavior is not welcoming. The room was good but not for a Saturday price stay. Bfast was included but if you want hot food an extra fee. Enough, thank you but no thanks!

Marriott Monterey didn't meet expectationsPosted Jul 19, 2015
Okay hotel. We had high expectations because it was a Marriott. We were disappointed. Beds were small and staff was rude. They only cater to Marriott members. Location was okay but parking cost was too high.

will boek again.Posted Jul 18, 2015
Very helpful staff, clean rooms, good value for money. Beds were ok, a bit worn hotel but its not a new hotel. Kids were happy to stay there.

Fourth of July stayPosted Jul 9, 2015
We have stayed at the Monterey Marriott before and enjoyed the location close to Fisherman's Wharf. The windows are still thin and do not keep the street noise out. The bathroom counter area is very small. Our coffee make did not work, we left a note. The bed was comfortable.

Breakfast buffet was the best I've had!Posted Jul 8, 2015
Hotel was beautiful, it was a little pricy but they included an incredible buffet breakfast for my entire family free of charge which made up for the room rate. Hotel was located near wharf and other nice downtown restaurants. Room was nice and clean, I asked for a room w/ balcony and they changed my room free of charge. Only down fall to the hotel was the parking situation. They charge you $24 a night to park in their garage and you can't even park your own vehicle. We had an oversize Tahoe and had to park 2 blocks away for $5 a night.

Friendly and Helpful StaffPosted Jun 22, 2015
Pros: The reception staff and its location..
Cons: Vending machine on the fifth floor was not working. Check in parking area could be expanded.
Location: The location of the hotel is near the major attractions of Monterey. The "Aquarium" has new exhibits and educational programs, always fun to visit.
Staff made you feel welcome. All were pleasant and cheerful. Nice to see staff happy at work. Room décor is somewhat dated. The hotel is centrally located and within walking distant of some good restaurants and attractions.

Ideal location.Posted Jun 14, 2015
Pros: The staff and location.
Walking distance to Fisherman's warf and downtown. We were greeted immediately and often. We never had to open the front door, entering or exiting, because a staff member was always available. Friendly and helpful staff. It's what one would expect at a luxury hotel.
