Mattress Hard As A Rock!!

Pros: The Lobby was nice and so was the room.
Cons: The hard mattress on the bed!!!
Location: The Monterey Wharf was fantastic. The view was very nice and so were the restaurants.
We arrived and the Concierge lady wrote the wrong room on the key envelope and just said "Excuse my terrible handwriting." Really!!? So, I'm running around trying to find the right room and when I found the right room the key did not work. Great!!? The bed was hard as a rock. Me and my Girlfriend's back were killing us the next morning. On my next trip to Monterey I'll try another place.

Not great...!

I have had great experience staying at Marriot in several cities. However, this one not as great as I expected. It's a nice place, but really depends on the room you get. Some rooms are so far away from elevator and the entrance (like mine this time around) that it takes almost 10 minutes to get to your room from the entrance. Staff were great and courteous. Breakfast was OK, again not as good as other Marriots I was used to. Next time I'll probably stay at a different Hotel in Monterey, although I will continue staying at Marriott Hotels other places hoping for a better experience.

Noisy and overpriced

Cons: The price, considering that there is absolutely nothing special about this hotel.
Nothing special about the room, no closet, king bed had three tiny pillows, firm as a board. Oddly, our room connected to the adjacent room and we could hear every word spoken in there at all hours of the day and night. You are paying for proximity to the bay here, nothing else.

Nice hotel, great location

Pros: Comfortable room, good location. Staff were very friendly and helpful.
Cons: $20 a night for valet parking seems a bit steep.
Location: Great location with the historic fisherman's wharf within easy walking distance.
Really comfortable hotel in a great location, within easy walking distance of Fisherman's Wharf. Really good breakfast!

Good rooms terrible staff

My daughters wedding was planned months in advance for the wedding guests to stay at the Marriot. We had requested an earlier check in then 4pm due to the fact that the wedding rehearsal and dinner was scheduled by 5pm. Upon arrival we were told rudely that the rooms were not ready in fact the bridal suite would not be ready until after 4pm as it turned out was ready after 5pm. On Saturday afternoon we were told the pool was closed that we could simply go across the street. When several hours later it was open. The welcome bags for the wedding guests were not distributed properly. On Saturday at 2pm I had to request our rooms get cleaned so we could prepare for the wedding. I could go on and on! The staff at this hotel is one of the rudiest, non-caring staff I have encountered in a long time. The rooms were fine, but because of the treatment I will not be staying here again.

Good location

Pros: Where it was located.
Cons: It would have been nice to know that the parking was $22/ day, not including tip for the people parking the cars.
Location: Fisherman's Wharf, good shopping, nice restauarants
This hotel was very nice and located in a nice part of town- I could walk to the wharf by myself and feel safe.

In Room 901 neither the bathroom or sliding glass door locked. We had the sliding glass door repaired.
