B & B?Posted Nov 4, 2013
Pros: View from the dining room of the bay.
Cons: The breakfast could be much better! Very plane!
Location: Within walking distance to the aquarium and outlet stores.
The pictures on the web where nice but, we won't be back. We love Monterey but this B & B have a few things to improve it. For the money there are better around.

Three things I wanted: Experience, Service, SleepPosted Oct 21, 2013
Pros: Service, service, service. The staff in the dining area was amazing. The breakfast and happy hour were GREAT!!!
Cons: Brighten up the place and replace the beds.
Location: Loved having dinner at the Whaling Station. Make reservations! Also a great lunch at Louie Linguinis with an amazing view & wild life.
First the good: the Service was spectacular! All of the little touches and thoughtfulness, were awesome. The food was super yum and very turn of the century service. Absolutely lovely with views overlooking the Pacific where you can watch otters and sea lions play. The less good was that the bed was less than comfortable. Maybe that's because we have a premium mattress at home and this felt like it had 16 springs on each side. It left us feeling unrested and achy. This was the Monterey room. The overall furnishings were definitely turn of the century which was nice, but the wall paper, carpeting and drapery was dark and dingy overall which led to a more depressing, run-down feeling.

Old style b&b with nice viewsPosted Oct 11, 2013
Pros: Location, Staff
Cons: The decor is a little dated
Location: 17 mile drive
This is a B&B in a grand old house overlooking the water. It s decorated in period pieces and like an old B&B should be with great staff and an interesting history. The drinks from 5:30 was a nice touch as well as the parting gift for the road. Overall a nice place to spend a few nights in Monterey.

very good placePosted Jul 23, 2012
we stayed only one night and the room served the purpose. This was the only place we could find in the area that would allow reservation for one night only.

Charming place to stayPosted Sep 8, 2010
We only stayed 1 night at the Martine Inn as it was a stop over on the way to San Francisco. Excellent location, just a 5 minute walk to Cannery Row and Aquarium. Lovely area to walk around and having the free parking out the front was very convenient. Breakfast overlooking the Bay was delicous. Suited us perfectly.

Hated to leavePosted Aug 26, 2010
Lovely and charmimg. All rooms are beautiful but ask for a room with a view of the ocean. Great breakfasts every morning and delicious wine receptions in the evenings. In fact there's so much food at the reception we skipped dinner most nights. The inn is located in walking distance to the Monterey Aquarium and Cannery Row. My husband and I were very happy staying here.

Beautiful Ocean BackdropPosted Jul 19, 2008
While we did not have an Ocean view room, this was more than adequately provided by the second floor sitting room. The staff was very attentive to guest's needs at any time during the stay. All food was excellent. The only thing they need to add would be to ask if a guest has food allergies, especially when it is book through a site like Expedia and not directly through the Inn itself.

great view, but!Posted Oct 26, 2007
The view and location was excellent right on the ocean. The wood burning fireplace make the room. But they need to put some money into remodling - carpet stained and old. Outside needs maintenance work. Staff was not very friendly for a bed and breakfast except for the ladies that served breakfast.
