My only negative hotel review ever...Posted Dec 4, 2013
Pros: Very nice contemporary double sink counters, private toilet room, Aveda toiletries, complimentary continental breakfast brought to your room, cookies.
Cons: The staff were rude. The bed lumpy. The sheets rough. Our room should have been described as "peak" ocean view and not worth the up charge.
Location: Near Cannery Row
Cons: The staff were not friendly. The bed lumpy. The sheets rough. I paid up charge for an "ocean view". The room was set far back from the ocean and was more of a "peak" ocean view. I had hoped to sit on the balcony and eat breakfast overlooking the ocean (as on the hotel website), but our balcony had a tall stucco wall (later I saw from the outside that most rooms did not have stucco, and had wrought iron fence to see out.) The other side of the hotel is a dilapidated building. Pros: Very nice contemporary double sink counters, private toilet room, Aveda toiletries, complimentary continental breakfast brought to your room, cookies in the lobby. We like to walk, so the hike to Cannery Row was fine.

Great location;very comfortable and well equippedPosted Nov 8, 2013
Pros: Great room with terrific views (if you pay extra)
Cons: Breakfast. Fruit salad was not the same standard as other inns I stayed in on my trip to California. Sweet pastries were the only option - yuck!
Location: 5 minutes from the Aquarium - which is totally amazing! Nice walks along Cannery Row with sea views - and away from the noise of F Wharf
I was on a tour of Northern California so had several experiences of US hotels on that trip! The Monterey Bay Inn was one of the best; great location on Cannery Row near the Aquarium (5 mins walk there and 10 mins to Fisherman's Wharf if you really want to go there!), terrific ocean views (if you book the more expensive room) and a really nice room with great facilities (lovely bathroom, strong wi-fi, large and comfortable room). I was really impressed. The hotel doesn't look much from the outside (but who cares about that when you're looking out) and breakfast is provided in the room (which breakfast options a lot and is really my only complaint - I can't do sweet pastries for breakfast! This is why this inn is a 4* and not a 5*). We could hear the sea and the sea lions from our room which was actually quite relaxing and an exciting part of the experience!

Ocean overlookPosted Nov 5, 2013
Pros: The breakfast was simple yet more than enough for what we wanted. Having it delivered to our room was an added touch that came at no,extra cost.
Cons: The property is already improving itself with remodeling I look forward to seeing these changes on our next stay.
Our stay at this property was excellent. We choose a room with an ocean bay view and we were not disappointed. The site is centrally located for the wharf or Cannery Row. The on site parking was extremely convenient.

Great Location!Posted Oct 26, 2013
Pros: The location, the comfortable bed, amenities and service.
Cons: More variety on the breakfast menu would be a nice addition.
Location: Right on Monterey Bay. Within walking distance of Cannery Row. Monterey Aquarium, 17 mile drive is a must do.
This was the second stop on our trip from San Francisco to San Diego and we were thrilled with the location, right near all the sights on Cannery Row and close to the 17 mile drive, Carmel and the Aquarium. The service was great and having breakfast on our balcony overlooking the Bay was most enjoyable.

Great location and room viewsPosted Oct 20, 2013
We stayed here for two nights on our honeymoon and really enjoyed staying here. Perfect location between Fisherman's Wharf and Cannery Row. We had a great view of the bay with a balcony. The bed and room were perfect and comfortable. Location wise, this place is a few minutes walk to either the wharf or aquarium at Cannery Row. A good breakfast is delivered to your room each day. The front desk was very nice and helpful in suggesting places in the area. There are also two hot tubs on site. Overall we would definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone.

Fantastic place to stay !Posted Sep 30, 2013
Pros: Location at the very end of Cannery Row directly adjacent to park. Excellent facilities
Cons: Very little.....it had everything you needed and could ask for
Location: Location at end of Cannery Row, Aquarium, Shops, Restraurants, walks, bike rides, watch the Sea Otters and many more options
This is one of those hotels that you just feel comfortable in as soon as you arrive. Greeted as if we were long lost family the front desk had our booking done in less than 3 mins with very little fuss. Offered suggestions on where to go for dinner after enquiring what we liked/didn't like. The room was quite large, separate bathroom (also quite big) with all the facilities you would expect and the some including a set of good quality binoculars in the room as there is lots of bird/sea animals to see. (whales offshore ). We were in a room overlooking the park with a balcony to enjoy a late afternoon drink watching the sun set. We stayed in hotels at 5 separate locations on our stay in the US, Las Vegas, Grand Canyon, Fresno, San Francisco and Cambria and this was overall the best place we stayed. Everything about this place was good to very good. Excellent value and highly recommended.

Perfect Hotel at the Beginning of Cannery RowPosted Sep 19, 2013
Pros: The Monterey Bay Inn is a great location with great rooms, perfect views, and common sense amenities (wifi, breakfast, parking).
Cons: I would have loved an ipod dock clock/speaker to play music.
Location: Located at the end of Cannery Row - you can walk the row, visit local shops, beaches, marina, and downtown.
Great hotel - within walking distance to all of Cannery Row (shops, restaurants, aquarium) adjacent to a park and beach access. Perfect location, friendly staff, onsite spa, good parking and free wifi!
