“Excellent Stay”

My wife and I recently stayed at the Monterey Downtown Travelodge in early April. We found it to be beyond anything we imagined. The room was exceptionally clean and well appointed. The beds were very very comfortable - they seemed to be brand new. The room was nice and quiet. The attention to detail was what you'd expect from a much more expensive hotel. Very good value. Also, the central location of the hotel was superb - easy access to main roads and the highway to Carmel, Pacific Grove, Big Sur, and the Aquarium, while at the same time within an easy walk to downtown Monterey's restaurants, Fisherman's Wharf, etc. Last, the front desk staff was friendly and very knowledgeable - they were almost ambassadors for Monterey. They fully answered all our questions and seemed to have a real passion for their area. In summary, the Monterey Downtown Travelodge is a real find and a very good value. Highly recommended.

“Good Place to Stay”

Good hotel. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Parking was a little tight,but , over all a good place to stay.

“would love to return”

The hotel was centrally located, in the downtown area. There was a family style eating place across the street and many smaller eating establishments within walking distance. The hotel had a pool. The hotel provided a daily newspaper for guests. Breakfast was available, it seemed to be very popular with the guests. The staff went out of their way to assist, including the the cleaning staff. Everyone seemed to be very friendly and courteous.

“MONTEREY ROCKS”

Very clean room and great service from the front desk. Very imformative and polite. This place is within close walking distance to all the attractions, whether The Wharf or Cannery Row. On the way back you are able to have a drink at any place on Alvarado and walk back to your room without getting in trouble. Plenty of eating establishments close by. My favorite is Rosine's on Alvarado, you have to try the Eggs Benedict with turkey and avocado. Just awesome.

“Clean, Comfortable and Convenient”

This hotel is within easy walking distance of the wharf area, close to the public transportation hub and the downtown district. There are numerous restaurants located within a few blocks. A good place to stay and reasonably priced too.
