Bare Bones

Posted Jul 20, 2015
Pros: The bed and the shower was nice.
Cons: Customer service and amenities.
Location: Perfect, right on Munras, short drive or long walk to Canary Row.
We arrived for Superbike weekend a little after 7:30 p.m. We got right into our room. There was a king bed, two night stands, a writing desk and chair, a dresser which contained a frig and microwave, an industrial hanging rack, a sink (stocked with two bars of soap and a shampoo/conditioner combo), and a separate toilet and tub/shower. Oh, and there was a blow dryer and clock. Notice there's no mention of other toiletries or lamps. There were four can lights through out the room, really bright if one person is reading and the other wants to go to sleep. This room was really just the bare minimum and we payed $230 for a king bed for one night. Really hard to swallow spending all that money for sooooooo little. The staff seemed to want to be someplace other then helping me check in, though they did give a room up and the first family showed up and they (the hotel staff) seemed to be providing them with alternative lodgings. But upon check out, (around 9:30) there was a sign which read "Leave keys in basket". Nice ; ( won't be returning.

Not impressed

Posted Jul 1, 2015
It was a disappointment all around. The desk clerk unfriendly. Shower curtain was missing found out it was drying on the front bush. The room small. That just cleaned smell. The toilet was broken so it moved loudly when you down.

Cute, clean motel

Posted Jun 23, 2015
We stayed for one night in June and found this to be a cute, clean, functional motel. It's not fancy, but it's comfortable and just a short drive from Cannery Row and Monterey's other tourist spots. The pool looked lovely, but it was too cold to swim.

I was there for one night (golf getaway). The room and bed were clean, there was plenty of water pressure for a shower, and quiet enough for a good night's sleep. The location is convenient to all areas of the Monterey Peninsula. This is an older small motel but it's at an affordable price. Be advised it does not have all of the bells and whistles one would find at a higher priced motel/hotel. For a one or two night stay (business/pleasure) its worth the price.

Good location, clean room.

Comfortable beg, clean room, close to ocean, food. I recomend to visit Carmel - parking on Ocean ave. and take a walk - art galleries, boutiques, and a beautiful beach. One more an amazing place to visit - Point Lobos. 15 min from the hotel.

Would stay again

Posted Jun 18, 2015
Cons: Lighter blinds on the window to brighten the room.
Location: Good location, short drive to fisherman's Wharf and Cannery Row and easy access to highway 1.
This is the typical 60's style strip motel. Rooms are clean and location is quiet. The only con was that the faucet was loose, not securely attached to the vanity top. We would return to this motel when next visiting Monterey and recommend it.
