This used to be a charming B&B. With that charm you can overlook aging facilities.
Now, there were no employees onsite - no greeting, no check in, no locals familiar with the area, no interaction at all.
It was a self-check in process, similar to what I've experienced at AirBnBs. But without the charm of inn-keepers, it is harder to overlook the aging facilities - peeling wall paper, funky plumbing, thin walls and creaking buildings etc.
In addition, the only way to heat the room was via the fireplace. That meant that as the temperature fluctuated through the night, the fireplace would turn itself on and off. When it was turning on, it would click for ~30 seconds - at 2am!
So, ultimately, my husband and I won't return. If you are looking for a charming and romantic B&B, there are many in Pacific Grove to choose from, but don't choose this one.
If you are looking for an inexpensive place to stay with the ease of self-check in and a good location, this place would suffice.
