The staff is really nice. Of course you get what you pay for. Rooms are clean, but the beds are a bit hard and the sheets could be a bit more fluffier. Neighbors around us seemed a little loud but then again that can happen anywhere you go.

Staff was decent , it was in a bad area . My shower was clogged. The water took a long time to go down the drain. I saw a lot of sketchy people around the hotel . The best part about the hotel, it was near some good places to eat . My family loved Marianne’s ice cream that is across the street . There’s a Starbucks, and the Habit burgers near by also .

The ratings for this motel are inflated. It is not nearly as good as it is rated. Although the room we had was clean and a good size, there were a range of other issues. Firstly, this property seems to have several long-term residents--some of whom you'll see outside on the premises. The area this motel is located in Santa Cruz also has a significant transient population. The appearance of the motel also does not resemble the photos posted here on Expedia. For instance, one of the windows to the main office was smashed. Overall, there are probably better places in town to stay.

Basic hotel not far from the boardwalk. No vending machine, no laundry facility, no hot tub. Floors inside the room are super dirty. Wear socks.

Check in and out we were greeted with a smile and addressed by name. Very friendly. Surrounding buildings and area looked a little rough. The building is obviously older and small but they were working on improving the exterior. The room had modern looking updates and was very clean. King size bed was pretty comfortable. Small imperfections were noticeable but not impactful of our comfort. The Wi-Fi was easy to connect to and worked well for us. We were within about 5-10 minutes drive of everywhere we wanted to go.

The thing that makes this hotel somewhere I’d stay again is the owner/front desk manager. He was so nice and treated my son so well. Always said good morning and there for whatever we needed. It’s hard to find places with nice people these days.

Very nice owner and staff. Good breakfast. Clean room, comfortable bed. However, 3rd floor was very inconvenient, constant construction noise during day, room wasn't ready on time, and other room had a very strong bleach odor for several hours.

The owner was nice but admitted it was not a prime area. We paid $200 night for a run down area. Our room had been made into handicapped did not have a closet. Front door a mess with some areas not painted. The room was clean.

The floors were really dirty. Socks turned blackish underneath. Not sure they clean the floors. Saw a piece of hair on a towel. There was a locked door connected to another room, which you could hear the neighbors through. Didn’t seem like walls were soundproof. Looked like some neighbors lived there in a motel type situation. They sat outside and hung out a lot watching people.

The two staff members were pleasant and welcoming. The breakfast room was well stocked. Everything has obviously been scrubbed clean. The room was very uncomfortable. It smelled really strongly of cleaning products. The sheets smelled like laundry detergent so much it gave me a little headache. The blanket was thin. There was no privacy curtain on the window. A small window in the back had privacy glass, but no curtain for light. The mixer for the shower was switched, so turning it to hot only brought cold water. It was frustrating and inconvenient for me, but could be dangerous for someone else. For the cost, I expected much better.

I wasn’t expecting a great hotel, I was expecting something of good. But when we arrived at the hotel, the service was great all the way till we left. The room was fairly large and we got two rooms, and they were both equally the same size fairly large, also, it was quiet on the grounds at night. Usually when we go to Santa Cruz, we somehow end up at a place where it’s loud and full of commotion but this place was fairly quiet. The complementary breakfast was also very good, there was quite a bit of options, especially for children .
