Quick run to Santa Cruz CAPosted Jan 14, 2014
Pros: This is an older hotel, but the room was clean, the staff were friendly & the bed was comfortable.
Cons: As I said this hotel is older and could be upgraded, but we didn't mind it exactly how it was.
Location: The Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk is a fun place to go for adults kids & seniors. It's rides, games shops & carnival/county fair atmosphere is great!
We were greeted very pleasantly, upon arrival and we were allowed to,check in two hours early. This hotel is about a 4 minute walk to the Beach Boardwalk & a nice 20-30 minute stroll to the Pier. We enjoyed our stay.

Nice hotel with excellent staff.Posted Jan 6, 2014
Pros: Close to Downtown, the college nightlife scene, and the Boardwalk. Affordable!
Cons: Our TV was making some noises that were distracting. Almost like a chirp here and there.
It was a pretty typical Super 8. When you book a Super 8, you know what you're getting. It's not a Hilton or a Sheraton, but it gets the job done. The exact location was a little sketchy in my opinion, but overall, it was close to both downtown and the Boardwalk, so in that sense, it was good.

The Mattress and bedding were a pleasant surprise one of the most comfortable beds and pillows I experienced in a while, much more than I expected.

Fabulous stayPosted Nov 19, 2013 on Hotels.com
We stayed in a large hot tub room, which I always worry about when booking due to past experiences where places did not up-keep/maintain. This room was GREAT. Extremely clean, cute, tub worked, cozy bed, perfect location, extremely friendly and helpful staff. Thanks, we will likely be back.

Santa Cruz Week End in the FallPosted Nov 2, 2013 on Hotels.com
My Husband and I stayed at the Super 8 last week end and I would have to say the motel was small but the beds were very comfortable. I'm so glad we only paid $96 for this room, It is not worth the $200 price tag I have seen on other reviews. It is located about 2 blocks from the Boardwalk but right on a busy street. I definitely did not feel as if I was staying near the beach. After driving around I found many other motels that would have given us more of a Ocean and Boardwalk feel to the week end. If you just want a place to crash it is fine. Also, the other Super 8 that is cheaper is right across the street, by the write ups I thought it was further away. All in all this is a motel with a hotel price. I will say the staff was friendly and the room was clean, although there were exposed pipes in the bathroom giving the room that overall cheap feel. The breakfast was fine, what you would expect from a continental breakfast. Next time I will find a motel near the wharf area, definitely more of the Beach and Boardwalk feel with a little better atmosphere, probably worth the few extra bucks.
