Pros: Liked everything
Cons: A price reduction would be nice.
Location: Location was great - short walks to downtown Carmel.
The hotel was totally acceptable. The room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast being brought to the room each morning was different and contained lots of breakfast goodies. The staff was very helpful and pleasant at all times. The price was high but I guess we were paying for where we were - Carmel.

Clean, basic, great location.

Posted Feb 2, 2015
Pros: Location, 1 night stay is allowed.
Well-kept, older motel. Could get loud if windows are open and/or if other guests aren't quiet in morning or night. No problems when we were there. Some rooms are pet friendly.

Ok place to stay

Posted Jan 29, 2015
We found the ro to be very small and the bathroom even smaller. Nice clean place to stay id you want to just sleep in the room as you couldn't relax in it for a long period of time

Perfect Inn for my needs

Posted Dec 28, 2014
Pros: Fairly priced. Good breakfast. Comfortable, quiet and clean.
Location: Very close to town where you will find loads of great shops, art galleries and restaurants.
Svendsgaard's Inn was the perfect place for me to stay at during my recent trip to Carmel. The location is perfect for walking into town, and is also very close to 17 Mile Drive and Pebble Beach. It's also very quiet there. Since it's located on a side street there's no hustle and bustle from the street. My purpose for being in Carmel was to play golf, so I didn't spend a heck of a lot of time in my room. But that being said, the room was very clean and the bed was very comfortable. Plus, the breakfast was perfect for me. Fruit, cereal, yogurt, coffee, juice, coffee cake. If you want a super-plush hotel, this may not be the place. But if you want a fairly priced Inn close to town that is clean and comfortable, this fits the bill.

Overnight stay at this Bed & Breakfast

Posted Dec 16, 2014
Pros: Clean, ample parking, free WiFi.
Cons: Carpet could use updating or a really good cleaning.
We arrived in the evening and the person behind the desk greeted us and checked us in pretty quickly. The parking lot was small, but we didn't have any problems finding parking. The room had stable-style half doors, which seem to be pretty common in Carmel. The room appointments were a bit dated, but everything worked fine. The weather wasn't too cold, but the heater kept the room comfortable easily. Breakfast was delivered in the morning, and it consisted of 2 pastries, 1 apple juice, 1 orange juice, 1 milk, 2 yogurts, 2 cereals, 1 apple, and 1 orange. The hotel is a few blocks north of the main street in Carmel, which made it a nice walk over to check things out.

Lovely setting in downtown

Beautiful, cozy courtyard. Friendly helpful staff. Comfortable bed in nice room but oddly placed fridge and coffee maker (in closet with no light). Not much space left in closet. No heater in bath. Generous continental breakfast, but way too much sugar.
