trip from MD to Seattle

Posted Feb 10, 2015
parking lot is used as an alleyway which has "extra people passing thru" and we had concerns about the safety of a bike on the back of our car BUT the price is very reasonable, includes breakfast AND close walking distance to fun places nearby. Overall good!! :)

Cons: A newer elevator
The room was very nice. Bed very comfortable. Very convenient to the wharf and places to eat. Their continental breakfast was very nice. I will go back there.

Great location close to invention center and walking distance to wharf. Room could have been cleaner, but good value for price. Good breakfast.

No frills basic hotel.

Pros: Reasonable rates, walking distance from Fisherman's wharf.
Cons: Microwaves and refrigerators in each room would be nice.
Location: Lots of historic buildings nearby. Restaurants nearby. Easy walk to Old fisherman's wharf.
Basic hotel. Comfortable and clean. No Refrigerator but some rooms do. Next to a city bus stop so you hear the buses come and. Good value.

Nice motel close to all the night-time excitement.

Pros: Bed was very comfortable, even the pillows.
Cons: For the price, it was good.
Location: Walk down the street at night. Safe and very many places to get food or buy things. Starbucks real close.
Right in the heart of a downtown, easy to walk to restaurants and stores.

small but nice

Posted Jan 16, 2015
Pros: Clean, great location
Cons: Noise
Location: 3-5 min walk to downtown Monterey.
The rooms are small and clean. The hotel is located near downtown Monterey. Rooms don't have good seal around windows and door. So, it was very noisy and they have gas station remodel going on right now right in front of the hotel. Definitely added to noise.

OK facilities, lots of traffic and people noise

Posted Jan 5, 2015
Cons: Fix the noise transparent windows and doors.
Let me start off by saying that we stayed new years eve and Jan 1. Rooms were fine based on price paid. Location is easy to find and within easy reach of the wharf and cannery row but I wouldn't call it easy walking distance. Rooms had enough furnishings and beds were comfortable. Good shower and plenty of hot water. The pool is a joke. More like a soaking tub and isn't heated so in Dec-Jan you can forget it. However the doors and windows are aging and don't seal well so they transmit every noise outside straight through. This is a problem as the hotel is next to a gas station and major intersection and it was new years eve and people were being very loud until the wee hours of the morning. It was slightly better the second night SLIGHTLY better. The main problem we had was that one of our rooms door lock didn't work. It would open even without a key. We found that out after leaving thousands of dollars of camera equipment in the room while we were out 2 times. The staff on duty tried diligently to fix it but that is as far as it went. Manager and repair staff were "unavailable" i.e. not answering their phones to fix the problem. The only other room available was away from our teenage children (staying in the adjacent rooms) so we didn't want to move. So I spent a sleepless night with the only the door guard (the little thing that lets the door open part way) locked and waking up every time someone walked by (because of the noise transparent door and window.

nice hotel, close to everything

Just a few minutes away from Fishermens Wharf, and about a mile away from the aquarium. Walking distance, if you like to walk, or rent a bike and you will be fine. Hotel was clean, staff was friendly and resourceful.

Close to downtown!

Posted Dec 30, 2014
Hotel staff is friendly and nice. Some local transients nearby, but it is literally just steps from the downtown area. Parking kinda tight, but street parking is available as well. Rooms were adequate, no fridge like the previous travelodge owners had. I stay here every year during this time and will be back next year
