Bare Minimum

Internet inconsistent. No shampoo or creme rinse. Breakfast selection pretty good. HB eggs, bagels, pastries, fruit, cereal, yoghurt, OJ. Coffe machine fun-latte, cappuccino, espresso -but didn't like flavour. Staff was great!

Hotel walking distance from Metrolink

Posted Dec 1, 2014
Location: Nothing
About 15min walking from the station LA east Civic Center. It took us about 1h to get to Hollywood, 1.5h to get to Universal Studios and 2.5h to get to Six Flags park. It had a just a few options for food and other needs. We came for Thanksgiving holiday, so we had just a 7eleven store open to buy stuff.

Did not like that a man was just rummaging through the dumpster in the parking lot and the hotel staff allow it.

Basic Value Rooms with Some Nice Features

Posted Nov 24, 2014
It's an older facility and the furniture looks it, solid but ancient. Still, there are some reasons for celebration, such as a very nice shower head and a constant coffee machine that does cappuccinos, espressos, and lattes (also delivers some decent regular coffee.) If you want to be close to East LA College, you can't do better. Parking is good. If you don't mind a bit of dinge, the value is quite good. We'll be back.

Nice upgrades inside room, exterior not pleasing

Posted Nov 18, 2014
Pros: The comfy bed and free bottle of water. Location.
Cons: Exterior of hotel. Hotel keys that worked.
Location: The location was okay.
Went to check in, got room key and couldn't open the door. Went back to the lobby and got different key, still couldn't open the door. Requested a different room, got key and couldn't open the door. Finally the lobby clerk had to go to our room and finally the key worked. When I enter the room, it was small but nice in appearance. It was clean and we enjoyed the free water in frig and toothbrushes ! Parking stalls were tight. The price was right but they do need to clean up the exterior of the hotel.

Nice place to stay with your family

Posted Nov 3, 2014
Room was clean. It was a little bit small but it was ok. (I stayed in a room that has two queen size bed so the rooms with one bed may be larger). They have all amenities that you may need (iron, hair dryer, refrigirator, microwave...) they offer lots of stuff to eat in breakfast. And most important hotel staff was very kind...

Nice motel perfectly located for my itinerary

Posted Oct 20, 2014
Pros: the hotel is 4 buildings arranged in a square with all the parking in the middle of the square which gave a sense of security parking late at night
Location: The location was perfect for my itinerary of visiting with relatives and friends. It'll probably be good LA State University visitors.
This motel perfectly located for my itinerary but may be a little out of the way for the typical traveller. I was pleasantly surprised with my room and it's amenities. The room had free Wi-Fi, refrig, microwave, coffee maker, blow dryer, ironing board w/ iron and a large flat screen TV. The room was a little small due to the large size of the bed but it was clean and maneuverable. My room (#225) was located on the North end of the motel. It was unique because it was more like a hotel room (ie the window was in the back of the room rather than next to the door where people are walking by). I liked to wake up with sunlight in the morning so I sleep with my drapes open but I can't do this w typical motel rooms where the window is next to the door. The downside is the window faces toward Monterey Pass Road. The street noise was really loud and noisy due to the roughness of road pavement when cars sped by. Most of the rooms on the East, West and South sides of the building all have windows next to the door. I think the ideal rooms would be in the Northeast corner (#x23 and maybe x24) where the windows are in the back of the room but facing away from Monterey Pass Road. There's also a simple but convenient, self-serve continental breakfast in the office/lobby with coffee, OJ, milk, pastries, yogurt, etc. I felt the location and building arrangement was safe and convenient. Based on price and convenience I would definitely stay here again
