"Lovely hotel perched up high on a hill overlooking Monterosso- in fact, one can see all 5 towns of Cinque Terre from the hotel grounds. Clean, comfortable, good-sized room; if available, book a room with a balcony for a fantastic view. Shuttle van to & from hotel into Monterosso was very much appreciated as walking up or down the hill would be difficult. Breakfast was excellent with many choices to suit all tastes (8-10 am). Staff were efficient but not overly friendly, which was fine. Nice areas outside to sit or lounge any time of the day. "

"We loved our stay at the Hotel Porto Roca!! They sent a complimentary taxi to get us from the train station. Showed us to our beautiful room with an amazing view from the balcony & brought us a bottle of champagne & 2 glasses to celebrate our anniversary! Even had slippers for us to wear. The restaurant has a fantastic view, food was excellent, breakfast spread HUGE! The only downside is walking up to the hotel…the climb is steep and very narrow. But doable and there’s a gate onto the hiking path to Vernazza which cuts off some extra steps. Overall, this hotel was worth every penny! We did not swim in the pool but it is lovely & quiet! "
