Good if you need a place to sleep

Posted Jun 11, 2014
Our room smelled of stale smoke when we first walked in, that seemed to go away after leaving the a/c on for the rest of our stay. Although the bathroom seemed to be renovated, it was very small. The tub was full of hair, as though he had not been cleaned in some time. I will not be staying here again. I could have stayed at the super 8 for half the cost, but the same quality. Not impressed.

clean

Posted Jun 8, 2014
Pros: The staff was very friendly and helpful
Cons: The bathroom had very tight quarters. Toilet seats very, very low. I am a senior with some disabilities and it was a little hard using the facility.
Location: I went to visit the casino and it was only a half mile away.
This hotel was very clean. This is the first thing I look for when staying somewhere. I have a compulsion about cleanliness. The beds and pillows were excellent also.

Great location to the raceway

Posted Mar 3, 2014
Pros: Location
Cons: Smoking rooms
Location: We went to the casino to see our friends band and didn't want to drive back home afterwards.
Great location to the raceway and casino. We went to the casino, gambled a bit and watched our friends band play.

Terrible dirty hotel

Posted May 12, 2013
Pros: Restaurant next door was great
Cons: Faucet corrected, guest room cleaned
This hotel was very bad. The hot and cold faucets were reversed so when trying to make water cooler-it became hotter! There was a dirty, wet towel in the bathtub from a previous guest. I will never stay here again. The restaurant next door was great.

Closest to the track. Old Hotel that reminds you of the 50's with some updates.

Great spot for a night near Woodstock!

Pros: Affordable washer and dryer on premises.
Cons: Creepy house right behind hotel
Location: Right off the freeway and easy to find
We were greeted by a very nice person at the hotel desk. She helped me with a roll away and change for the washing machine, right away. We had a very pleasant experience and everything was very clean and in working condition.

Disappointing experience

Continental breakfast was adequate. Air conditioner made too much noise. Room was grossly overpriced.

My overall experience

Posted Feb 14, 2012
Pros: Sink outside of bathroom. Breakfast. Cleanliness
Cons: Bathroom too small. Heater being turned off by cleaning staff during day in winter.
The room was fine. Just a basic room. Nothing too elaborate. I liked the sink being outside of the bathroom. However, the bathroom was too small. It was hard to manuver in there. At first my room key did not work, then my clock radio did not work either and had to be changed. The cleaning staff kept turing off the heater. Since this is Febuary, when I entered the room initially late at night , It was quite cold in there. After coming back to the room the next evening it was cold again. Breakfast was adequate.

Best Western Monticello

We walked into our NON SMOKING ROOM and were hit with the smell of stale cigarette smoke. The previous residents of the room had covered the smoke detector with aluminum foil. I went to open the window and noticed that the screen had been pried open and was never properly fixed. Making me even more nervous, the lock on the window was broken. The guy at the front desk fixed this by jamming a yardstick into the rail to prevent the window from sliding open. I have the habit of putting my clothes in the drawers when I stay in a hotel. I found it odd that one of the drawers had clothes already in it. The carpet was sticky in spots. The cramped bathroom was only a toilet and a shower....the sink and mirror were outside in the room. To top it all off, there was no shower curtain in the bathroom? Staff was friendly and helpful to fixing our problems. We would have asked for another room, but the hotel was sold out because a concert was in town.
