Unpleasant experiencr

Posted Aug 29, 2014
There were a lot of drunk people hanging outside my window. They were screaming and what not. They were also leaning on my car of which i went to move my car afterwards when they cleared the area. Overall it was a pretty scary and unpleasant stay.

2 Night Stay

Posted Aug 27, 2014
Cons: The smell in the rooms.
Location: Monticello, MN and we shopped at Albertville.
The hotel is an old building that has had it's rooms renovated. The beds have new mattresses and the rooms have new modern furniture. However the room had smell to it that was very unpleasant. When we turned off the AC it definitely helped eliminate the odor somewhat, but it was always a disappointment heading into the room after a day of shopping. Also, the pool area had a smell to it, as well. The breakfast was minimal in variety.

Uncomfortable Night on the floor.

Posted Aug 22, 2014
Pros: When I think of something I will let you know
Cons: Make all floors accessible with an elevator.
My wife and I booked this Hotel because it was close to the wedding and reception we were attending in Elk River and St. Michael, Minnesota. Upon checking in on the afternoon of our stay. We found out that the upstairs rooms are only accessible by stairs, no elevator. This is a problem since my Mother-in-law would be staying with us. Because of health issues she is not capable of climbing that many stairs. This is a major problem. The staff informed us that there were no rooms available on first floor except the handy cap accessible. This room only had one bed,. We then asked about there cancelation policy. We were informed that since we booked through Expedia they couldn't do a cancelation. So we ended up taking the Handy cap accessible, since we can't afford to just lose our deposit. My Wife and Mother - in - law shared the bed and I spent a very uncomfortable on the hard floor. I' am glad we spent money for a hotel room so I could sleep on the floor. After checking in and taking our bags to the room it was discovered that there was water leaking form the ceiling in the bathroom. This just made or stay more pleasant(NOT). We then informed the staff of this new problem and they said they would look into it right away. Well the next morning when we left the ceiling was sill leaking. Not OK. We spent good money for a hotel room so I could sleep on the hard floor and have a water leak in the bathroom ceiling. RREALLY NOT OK.

Building and some interior features like carpeting are dated. Room was clean enough, comfortable and newer model flat screen tv. Many young smokers congregate outside near rear entrance

Overnight shopping trip

The hotel was clean but showing signs of age and wear especially the bathroom and the pool area. It served its purpose of a place to sleep and a quick breakfast ( not a lot of choice but the basics).

Suggestions to improve the hotel

Posted Jul 1, 2014
Pros: The location to eating and the highway.
Cons: Cleaning at the entrance
Location: The location was great to the places we visited.
I was kind of surprised at the dust in the entrance of the hotel. The windows looked liked they have never been cleaned. I am sure I could have written a small novel in the dust as you enter the hotel. I don't think that it should look this bad because it does not give a good impression of the hotel. I am sure I could have cleaned this in a matter of a half an hour, this should be taken care of on a daily basis when the floors and general cleaning is done especially to welcome guests into your hotel.

Great location

Pros: Excellent value for money, we always try & stay at Super 8 motels, & Monticello was definitely THE BEST one.
Cons: Nothing
Location: We only ate dinner out, then got ready to be on the road early next day
After driving over 900 kilometres, we really appreciated the pool, & the quiet of the hotel. Staff are amazing. Breakfast was very good, & breakfast area spacious.
