Annex not good

Posted Aug 28, 2013
Pros: Nothing
Cons: Price needs to be lower when staying at the annex
Location: We love the small town though it was just an over night stop.
We have stayed here many times and enjoyed our stay. This time they put us in the annex at the same price as the main motel and I felt like I was in a one star motel. We were very disappointed. If you stay there, tell them you do not want the annex.

It's not the Plaza, but then Montpelier (thankfully) is not NYC.

Annex Building???

Posted Aug 21, 2013
Cons: The annex building needs updated.
I booked this several months in advance and they placed me in the "annex building". I found this out when I got there. The annex building is 3 blocks away from the Super 8. It is a old strip motel that is across the street from a trailer park - KOA type. As a women staying by myself I was scared to death. I asked if they had anything else available in the official hotel and they told me no. After the first night I was mad and talked to the front desk. They then moved me to the other building.

Nice Hotel Along Route

Posted Jul 27, 2013
Pros: The location was great, the facilities were very nice, it was peaceful & clean.
Cons: More help at the front desk. The line was ridiculous and the workers moved very slow at what they did.
Location: Large museum across the street,, family dollar store a few doors down, & an old theater a few blocks away with 1 movie at 7PM
The hotel itself was great! The rooms were nice, clean, up to date, etc. The location was wonderful. It was right along the highway and was across from a large museum. It sounded fabulous, but we didn't have time to see it. The place was quiet and nice. The breakfast room was small and they didn't have a lot of selection, but enough to fill us at least. Just plan lots of extra time to check in and check out. We were on a month long road trip and this hotel was the only one that took forever to check in and out of. They only had one person at the counter at a time. When we got there we were 9th in line and shortly there were 3 more behind us. One guest asked if this was normal and the gal said it was. To check out in the morning was the same; there was a big line & you had to wait and check out, not just turn in your key card & leave. They need to staff more people and train them how to work a bit faster.

Worked well for us -- good breakfast

Posted Jul 7, 2013
Pros: Breakfast, parking outside of room door, daily cleaning service, speedy check in, check out, and helpful staff.
Cons: Consider a switch to a self-serve waffle maker.
Location: Bear Lake beach, boating, swimming, fishing, water sports, visit Soda Springs, Minnetonka Cave, hiking, off roading, snowmobiling.
Stayed three nights with my wife and two teenage boys. We were placed at their "annex" location, which is 3 blocks north and across the street, probably converted from a prior competing motel near the outskirts of town. This turned out to be OK for us because the room was adequate, we weren't planning on swimming in their pool or spending much time in the room. An advantage to the annex is that you can park next to your door which provides a little more independence. The breakfast was good. If you go early you have a better chance of selecting from their breakfast offerings: yogurt, juice, milk, coffee, dry cereal, instant oatmeal, nut bread, jelly, cinnamon rolls, hard boiled eggs, biscuits, sausage gravy, a lady is there to make pancakes if you want, and syrup. Check in and check out went quickly and well. No surprises on price. Room was made up and cleaned each day. Quiet neighborhood. Frontage road works well for good walks.

Nice place to stay

My accomodation was ok but what I did not know: this motel has two buildings separated by three blocks. I stayed in the adjoining building where all amenities like ice machine, vending machines and WiFi were available. Breakfast is served in the main building.

Friendliest staff!

Posted Jun 23, 2013
Pros: Enjoyed the hot tub and pool. The staff was top notch. Convenient location. Delicious banana bread. :)
The room was nice for this type of hotel. The beds were very comfortable. Room included a desk, recliner, fridge, microwave, etc. The hot tub and pool were a plus, and all of the staff we encountered were extremely friendly and accommodating.
