Close to Airport..that's itPosted Sep 24, 2013
Pros: The notion of convenience being near the airport for an early AM flight.
Cons: I probably could have stayed in downtown Montpellier for not much more than the price I paid for the five-minute taxi ride to the airport.
Location: Oh, let me share: You can dine at KFC next door, or cross the road to the giant Flunch big-box store and dine at the buffet. Kind of like Ikea.
This motel (note the "m", not "h") is decidedly unpretentious. It does the job in terms of providing a cheap place near the airport. It was clean, but sparse and some fixtures were broken. The main point is that if you plan to stay to save on time getting to the airport – say, to catch an early-morning flight – beware of the taxis. You'll need one to travel the five-minute drive, but it just cost me over 30 Euros. Why? Because at 5am the taxi that was called for me by the front desk when I checked in the night before, set the meter at 19 Euros when he picked me up. And by the time five minutes elapsed, it was 30 Euros. When I inquired why I was told it was because his meter began running when he left his homebase of Montpellier, 20 minutes away, and then he stated that no other taxis are available at that hour any closer. In other words, it's a scam that visitors can do nothing about. No recourse. What was I going to do?

Heavy duty earplugs required!!!!Posted May 21, 2013
Pros: Location, locality to transport
Cons: Noise levels
In a way, I wanted to give this place a good review. The rooms were like Travelodge quality and were clean and comfortable enough. The staff were helpful and quite friendly. Unfortunately, the main reason to stay in a hotel is to get some sleep and this just wasn't possible here due to the noise levels. I realize that the staff have very little control over the type of guest that stays ( in our case screaming, shouting, running and slamming around all night) but the walls are just so incredibly thin that you can hear everything going on anyway. It's reallya massive let down. If you're deaf or hard of hearing, then you will probably be fine here.

Very Handy for ArenaPosted Oct 20, 2012 on Hotels.com
Nice basic hotel perfect for our needs. Staff were friendly and helpful. Ideal for gig at the Arena. Room was quite spacious and clean and there is a 24 hour reception service. No kettle in room but drinks available at reception. Free Wifi a bonus. Taxi from airport is 15 euros but we walked back using the gated access road off the roundabout with only hand luggage. Lots of facilities next to hotel. Out of town location (you could travel in by tram very easily) but this did not matter as we were only there for the gig.

Balladins Superior......BALLADONT'S INFERIOR !Posted May 30, 2012
Pros: The Shower - powerful
Cons: The Hotel....shabby dirty it should be demolished!
Location: Awful...it's a motorway pitstop!
Awful, awful, awful....the room smelt of damp, chipped and peeling paint on woodwork and walls, chewing gum stuck to the wall, ripped net curtains. The whole hotel was shabby and tired and needs complete renovation. Oh yes forgot to say it's on the motorway and used as an overnight truck stop!! very noisey. Outside space consisted of a small cheap tin table and four chairs in the car park! Your stuck on the side of an unfinished motorway, with views of hypermarket car park, tram stop surounded by scrub land, digger trucks and lorries, oh the nearest resturant is a 24hr drive through KFC 3 doors down, via the car park!! The only good thing is it is very close to the Parc de exposition Arena(300mtrs away). On a positive note, the shower pressure was great, it would nearly knock your head off!!

A Cold February trip to FrancePosted Feb 19, 2012
Pros: The helpful and cheerful staff
Cons: the cold room
Location: out of town industrial but a good base for exploring
This is a Motel in an industrial area, but the staff were so helpful and available 24/7. It is fairly basic but rooms cleaned daily, clean towels every day and beds changed during our 7 day stay. It was extremely cold below freezing during our visit and the rooms hot air heating was not enough to heat the room but again the helpful staff found us electric heaters after a couple of days. The location made it easy to eat as there is the wonderful Chinese Wok just around the corner and several restaurants across the road at the Auchan shopping mall, even the KFC right next door was handy when one of our party was ill in bed! The tram into Montpellier will be starting in April and will run right past the front of the hotel, so the journey into the city will be so easy. Despite other reviews, we ate breakfast in the hotel each morning and it was very good, cereal, breads, ham cheese etc no problem. We had a good experience here and it is value for money, the cheaper end of the market but service is good. We used this as a base to explore the surrounding areas.

The Hotel in Perols - that looks can decievePosted Oct 7, 2011 on Hotels.com
The hotel when you first see it looks like not so good motel and the surroundings support this look. When you enter you are greeted with a nice lounge and front desk. The room was VERY clean with extra beds . The bathroom was immaculate and have not stayed in a two star hotel with so many towels. All the beds were very comfortable and well made up, with great mattresses that soothed these old bones. The breakfast was not free but the fixed price was reasonable and good. In summation , this is a reasonably priced hotel that is about 5 min from the airport that is worth the money since what you get is clesn ,solid comfort without the fancy exterior. Incadentally, there is a great pastry shop next door and a KFC next to that if you need a quick bite.

We got ripped off by the taxi driver to get here (£15, although the mter read £10, he wanting more because of lugguage~ pls don't fall for this like we did) so its not really walking distance if you were planning to walk from the airport, there are closer hotels than this one. But the stay was very nice, quiet place, a great shopping centre just next door and very friendly staff.
