Good, friendly service though the room was tired.Posted Oct 14, 2013 on Hotels.com
Friendly staff and a great location between the train station and the town centre. The room was a little tired and would benefit from a refresh and the en-suite was a not full height partition in the room. Good value when compared to the high prices of other hotels in Sete.

What a change!Posted Oct 4, 2013 on Hotels.com
Didn't realise that I had stayed at The National about 5 years ago. What a change! Five years ago it was rather dingy but clean. Now they must have spent thousands on a complete overhaul. Everything is brand new. Shiny reception and breakfast room. Bedrooms with full en -suite are excellent. There is now a lift and each landing has lounge facilities. Parking is still difficult but since reception does not open until 17.00 you can usually find a space although there is a public car park the other side of Ave Victor Hugo a few metres away. It is a bit of a stroll into the town center if you want to dine on oysters but there is a nice pub on the corner and between the pub and the Hotel there is a nice little restaurant used by the locals, which is always a good sign.

This was a very mice hotel and the staff worked hard to please. Our car got towed from a nearby street and they were most helpful in getting us to the right places to take care of it. Loved the resident French Bull dog!

Pros: Easy access to station and close to main town
Cons: Could have had some English speaking TV channels
Location: Easy access to station, local shops, bars/restaurants and not far from main town.
Overall enjoyable stay good location with some restaurants close at hand.

Fantastic summer choice in the South of FrancePosted Aug 21, 2013 on Hotels.com
We enjoyed four days at Le National and would have happily stayed longer if we could. Sete is a super destination for couples, avoiding the scrum of the surrounding resorts owing to its absence of any beach - unless you are prepared to drive a couple of miles - and there are fabulous beaches approaching Sete so even with kids it is worth considering. The hotel is within easy walking distance of the center, with attractive canals, cafes, restaurants and shops to visit. There is a super brasserie a few meters from the hotel which is set in a tree lined boulevard, reminiscent of Paris. The hotel room wasn't large, but perfectly adequate with effective air-con and a delightful balcony. The en-suite was big and the public areas, including breakfast room, were tastefully decorated and quite spacious. The manager was really lovely and couldn't do enough for us, speaking good English and keen to make sure our stay was enjoyable. Wouldn't hesitate to return.
