Wow, Wow, Wow! The last hotel on the street, beach access, beautiful pool, access to a VIP lounge on the beach, restaurant on the top of the hotel with a 180 degree view on the Mediterranean Sea and the best sunset view! It is THE place to stay in Gros Le Roy :)

Positiv : The staff is very friendly, clean room, great view; excellent breakfast Negativ: The hotel is undoubtedly OK for French nationals but not for foreigners. - Many TV channels but only in French. There were 2 English channels listed but not working, no sound, no image - Pool access is expensive and was denied with foreign swimsuits (my US boxer shorts were a couple of inches too long, they insisted on selling their 35 Euro swimsuits. Note; After the denied access I got a refund of the pool access fee upon my insistence. - The fitness room is small and has minimal equipment (one treadmill etc.) - On my 3 week business trip I booked this hotel to relax. Unfortunately this was not possible. Fitness room busy; pool access denied. Note: I stay 60 to 80 nights per year in hotels and write rarely a review
My swim-boxers were longer than the boxers sold by the hotel. Both had the same hem (ourlet) thickness.

On the beach but past it’s prime . . .
This hotel Les Bains de Camargue is right on the beach however it is well past it’s prime. The carpets are hideous, the bathroom fittings dated and the room smelled so much from being locked up that we had to sleep with the balcony door open. Signs at the hotel advise that refurbishment would commence in April 2019 but there was no sign of that during our visit. The front entrance boardwalk steps vibrate badly when walked on giving the impression that even the most obvious maintenance isn’t being done. The car park is good but necessary given most alternative eating places are too far to walk. From the beach, the hotel (and nearby apartments) are designed to look like passenger liners as a nod to the areas history but that just compounds the feeling of being outdated. The pool and garden areas are fine. I could imagine this hotel being 4 stars a couple of decades ago but in my opinion it is not up to that standard now. I couldn’t recommend this hotel to family or friends . . .

Great stay for family with small kids
Great stay! The room is very spacious for France. The view is great! The balcony is big and has a tall glass barrier so it is very safe for young kids. Outdoor heated pool (25-26oC), but it is still cold for a 4yr old to swim for a 77F (25oC) windy/cloudy day on early Jun. Indoor spa salted seawater pool (small) is opened for kids from 6pm-7:45pm (12Euro/adult during that time, kids is free. ~35Euro/adult/whole day access). They are very strict about wearing speedo instead of a swim surf shorts in the indoor pool (has guard). They have a sauna and a steam (Turkish hammam room) room included for the spa/indoor pool pass. Free parking within the hotel. Breakfast buffet is great (16 Euro/adult), a bit expensive, but it is in the 6th floor restaurant with a great view to the ocean. A short walk along the beach (3-5 mins), you will reach the little shopping area that has several beach style restaurants and a Spar grocery store. Overall, a great resort. We just did not know that south France is chill and still not for pool/beach weather on early-mid June!

Lovely but far out.

Nice hotel close to the beach, great staff!
The Hotel Les Bains de Camargue is a perfect weekend beach getaway. My room was very clean, featured modern decor, and a very comfortable bed. The staff speak several languages and were very helpful with finding restaurants, confirming tours, etc. The property also sits next to a very relaxing beach and marina, and is well maintained.

Right on the beach
When selecting this hotel I had no idea of it's location in relation to Montpellier, this was a pit stop for me between Brittany and Spain. The area is deffinatley a seasonal one, though the hotel was busy. The staff were very pleasant and professional. I ate in the east au rant as this was the best option, the food was excellent and my server Cecil recommended a bottle of wine to pair with my meal, and she was spot on.

Great Hotel overall with an incredible restaurant
On business trip so facilities very important. Restaurant food was well above standard would go as far to say some of the best food for a non-michelin restaurant. staff were very friendly and accommodating rooms very clean and modern. will stay here again.

I liked this hotel, it was comfortable and clean, didn't like the area so much. Whilst the staff are happy for kids to stay, the other guests clearly didn't - we had filthy looks every time we entered the pool or the restaurant with our well-behaved 5 year old. Disappointing.

This hotel is for French people taking 2/3 days away -Not a tourist place - no taxis to take you anywhere - they do not want to know - menus - unless you are fluent in French are very hard to understand & Google translate does not work as wifi signal poor Beach and sunbeds brilliant- 8 inch sunbed mattress and very good service food and drinks Swimming pool is a joke - concrete area with a pool - sunbeds - white plastic - NO mattreses & NO umbrellas - no service at all - looked like a 1950 council pool No restaurants just cafes - and unless you are fluent in French - then it is just pizza & pasta We liked the days on the beach - but nights were a real struggle - could not go to the canal as taxis would NOT pick you up We also worried when we ordered taxi from Hotel to airport and reception had to try 7 taxi companies - we did this night before check out! Just also be aware - no tea or coffee making in the room - bring your own kettle & tea bags Not a place for anyone from the UK looking for a holiday - This is a French Hotel in a residential are that happens to be by the beach PS - There are 5/7 cafes & a SPAR!

We booked this hotel thinking that as a recognised spa brand it would be special- it wasn't. The girl who checked us in on arrival was great and couldn't have been more helpful, though we found the rest of the staff quite surly. Nothing was included in our rate, I don't expect to pay for a sunbed on the beach where I am staying. No towels were provided by the pool. We hired bikes at the hotel which were old, uncomfortable and twice the price it was in town for brand new ones. We had a random wet carpet ( we were in the ground floor) which they did not seem concerned about when we reported it-no apology or check to see if any of our belongings had got wet) The good news is that it did have a bath, and good quality products in the bathroom.

Three star hotel masquerading as four star
On arrival, only one of two elevators was working; that remained through the stay, except for a period of about 48 hours, neither was working. The hotel was ground floor plus 6 floors, with restaurant on the top floor. No tea or coffee in the room. Family room appeared to be same size as a normal room, plus a separate tiny room with two bunk beds. So the area we got was not bigger than normal, though we had expected a bigger than normal. Swimming pool was closed to 10am in the morning! This appeared to be for convenience of staff, rather than to please those guests who like an early morning swim before breakfast. There was supposed to be some kind of a bar fridge. However, there was no ice for it nor ice generally available. Wrong address on expedia site caused problems with navigator in initially driving to the hotel.

Out on a limb, but close to beach.
Hotel bit far out and without transport it would be difficult. Very nice hotel with super staff who couldn't do enough to help you. Room was on ground floor (garden room) and bit dark, but big and no view due to intruding shrubs. Asked to be moved to one floor up which they did after 2 days and much lighter and airy room with views. Supplied a spare duvet to be used as mattress topper under bottom sheet as I have bad back. It was no problem. Mosquitos were about and I got bitten about 8 times, but mostly when we were out in the evening at restaurants etc. Beware to take good repellent and bite ease.

I drove with my family from Cologne to this hotle on my way to Spain. I find this place place very relaxing and comfortable. It was very much refreshing after long drive to use the salt indoor pool for me and my family.

Honeymoon travel, room with a view
We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. We paid a little extra for the sea view room, and it did not disappoint. We were able to watch the sunset from our balcony and it was spectacular. The staff was excellent, spoke English which was immensely helpful. The room was clean, comfortable, and modern. The shower water pressure and temperature was great.

Hotel doesn't do beach towels so make sure you bring your own. Room was spacious but old and grubby looking. Bed was like concrete and pillows old and uncomfortable. Asked for an extra pillow and it was like I was asking the earth. Left some swimming trunks in bed and they were still there when the bed had been made up. Restuarant was very poor. Had to pay to use inside pool and the hours were restrictive!

Although the hotel was well run and clean, the food was also good, the rules we had to obey were insane. my sons were shouted and and thrown out of the swimming pool because they wernt wairing trunks, but instead were wearing swimming shorts. they were very upset and we ended up leaving and headed for the beach. we were then thrown of the hotel loungers because they were reserved. all this lead to a less than positive stay so we wont be going back.

It was nice but hard to know what was available since we did not know French very well. All printed information was totally in French making it difficult to understand due to our limited French. Had some of the printed material been translated to English underneath the French description would have made our stay more enjoyable. Also the staff's limited ability to communicate in English did hinder the ability to know what was available to guest.

The hotel was nice but starting to look a tiny bit dated. Would stay well clear of the restaurant on the roof - over priced and very odd. Don't order a cocktail there either; definitely not their strong suit. The staff were friendly enough.
