Very comfortablePosted Jul 21, 2014
Cons: The elevator was a little slow.
Location: Everything is located next to this hotel! We were able to walk to everything. It is right across the street from the 4 piers that are packed with acti
We spent a week at this hotel. The staff was phenomenal! So helpful. The room was quite comfortable and the morning's free breakfast was a great way to start off each day.

Nice hotel but can be noisyPosted Jul 19, 2014
Pros: Very classy, well situated in old Montreal and the old port. Not your normal chain hotel.
Cons: Sound insulation! not likely very easy to do but this would be it.
Location: You're in the center of old Montreal and the old Port. There are more things to do than you will have time for.
The hotel is very nice, it has a classy feel to it and the staff is very friendly. Room was very pleasing with 12' ceilings and windows and exposed brick walls but the A/C couldn't be adjusted and it was freezing in the room. A few adjustment needed also in the bathroom but nothing major. Our room was on the first floor facing the street in front. Do not choose this room is you are a light sleeper or if you plan to sleep at all. It was SUPER noisy, the sounds coming from the street (cobblestone), the cars, motorcycles, the terrasse just below, people talking loudly, laughing until way past 1 am made this particularly unpleasant. The inside sound insulation is also minimal. I think the people in the room next to us were tossing furniture around. Unfortunately all this noise made us regret taking a room in this hotel. Everything else was great though. We know other people just adored their stay so perhaps a room facing the back or on a higher floor would be better. There is a nice terrasse on the roof where the fireworks at La Ronde can be seen while drinking or eating something.

Weekend in MontrealPosted Jul 8, 2014
Pros: The facility is well maintained and has just the right touch of history and modernity. The staff is outstanding.
Location: Festival International de Jazz de Montreal in late June is a must see experience. Old Port is a great place to start exploring Montreal.
Another excellent experience at the Auberge du Vieux-Port hotel! 3rd time back and this was just as nice as our first visit. Highly recommend.

Wonderful experiencePosted Jul 6, 2014
Cons: the speed of the elevator--but this was very, very minor
Location: Right in the heart of Vieux Montreal--perfectly placed for view, access to the Metro (subway), Jazz Festival activities, and exceptional restaurants
The staff were exceptional--very helpful, knowledgeable about all things Montreal and eager to please. The room was amazing--gracious high ceilings, old-world atmosphere with all the modern conveniences. The rooftop experience with the fireworks display overlooking the river was absolutely awesome.

Great locationPosted Jul 2, 2014
Beautiful and comfortable rooms and right in old Montreal, a small area that is full of street cafes, bars and museums. A great place to stay and about a 10 minute walk to the Metro to get to the rest of the city. The only downside was the kitchen wasn't up to the standard of the rest of the place.

Best LocationPosted Jul 2, 2014
Pros: Location, rustic interior of room, breakfast. Terrace.
Cons: Bed was too soft. Not a comfortable sleep. Rm 305.
Location: Cirque du soliel, scandinavian spa, port
Spent a night here for our anniversary. Great location right across the street from the port, and the cirque du solie which we went to. Had a City view room which was nice since there was a violinist playing below our room most of the evening. Terrace has a great view. Room was nice and large, we had a big jetted tub. Breakfast was delicious. Only downside was the bed was way too soft for us.

We had a great experience. The staff was extremely helpful, and kind. Very european feel, and quaint. The only downsides I can think of are that the elevator is pretty slow, and there was a wooden pillar in the center of the room, making a little difficult to get out from one side of the bed. But would definitely stay here again.

Nice design, but lacking in other areasPosted Jun 19, 2014
Pros: Design, cleanliness, location
Cons: Soundproofing, restaurant staff professionalism
Location: Sight-seeing in beautiful old city, water views and activities at port, Cirque de Soleil, shopping, plenty of restaurants & bars.
Positives: Great loft-like design, large rooms and very clean. Also in the heart of the historic district. Staff was very nice. Negatives: In the heart of the historic district. This was our first visit to Montreal, so we were unaware that this hotel IS ON THE SAME SMALL STREET as the main tourist area of restaurants and bars. Needless to say, the room we were given on a Saturday night was incredibly loud and there are lights on the hotel facade just outside the windows making the room very bright at night. At 3 o'clock in the morning we asked to be moved into a more quiet location in the hotel. We had asked earlier when we came back from dinner, but we were told there was nothing available. We were finally given another room, which was much more quiet. When we booked (at a not inexpensive rate), breakfast was included in the nightly rate. However, the breakfast was marginal at best. I have never seen a more overcooked omelet. Even the buffet was very sad and Sunday morning we couldn't tell who was supposed to be serving us - it was very disorganized. Overall, the staff was very nice, but it seemed like there was no supervision or manager on staff. The front desk did not even know we had changed rooms the night before. Overall, this was a disappointing experience for a four-star hotel and for what we paid.
