Great location!

Posted Aug 7, 2014
Mom(54) and daughter(31) vacation, montreal and quebec for 5nights from usa. Location was perfect in old port area. Breakfast is a big plus, incl. Hot food to order, yummy. Main old town shops and cafe right behind our hotel, st.paul street. Notre dame very close by and also china town for a nice dimsum for lunch. We even tried the hotels restaurant for dinner on our last night and that was very good. Metro is also very easy to use and I recommend buying a 3 day metro pass which includes the 747 airport bus to downtown and then a 10 dollar cab ride to hotel, thats incl the tip.

A perfect Stay

Posted Aug 2, 2014
Pros: see above
Cons: very slow elevator
Location: Would recommend Cafe Modavie (2 blocks away) Wish we had gone to Boris Bistro on McGlll. Recommend lobster sandwich at Muvbox on McGill.
We were very impressed with the Auberge du Vieux Port. Our room was large and well appointed with a very comfortable bed. The bathroom was lovely with a large bathtub for soaking tired limbs and there was a six jet shower. The staff was always very helpful and personal. Dinner our first night was excellent and so were all the breakfasts in the adjoining restaurant. There was also a wonderful terrace on the roof for drinks or a light meal overlooking the city. The location is terrific and we hope to return to the Auberge.

We spent a week at this hotel. The staff was phenomenal! So helpful. The room was quite comfortable and the morning's free breakfast was a great way to start off each day.

Nice hotel but can be noisy

Posted Jul 19, 2014
Pros: Very classy, well situated in old Montreal and the old port. Not your normal chain hotel.
Cons: Sound insulation! not likely very easy to do but this would be it.
Location: You're in the center of old Montreal and the old Port. There are more things to do than you will have time for.
The hotel is very nice, it has a classy feel to it and the staff is very friendly. Room was very pleasing with 12' ceilings and windows and exposed brick walls but the A/C couldn't be adjusted and it was freezing in the room. A few adjustment needed also in the bathroom but nothing major. Our room was on the first floor facing the street in front. Do not choose this room is you are a light sleeper or if you plan to sleep at all. It was SUPER noisy, the sounds coming from the street (cobblestone), the cars, motorcycles, the terrasse just below, people talking loudly, laughing until way past 1 am made this particularly unpleasant. The inside sound insulation is also minimal. I think the people in the room next to us were tossing furniture around. Unfortunately all this noise made us regret taking a room in this hotel. Everything else was great though. We know other people just adored their stay so perhaps a room facing the back or on a higher floor would be better. There is a nice terrasse on the roof where the fireworks at La Ronde can be seen while drinking or eating something.

Weekend in Montreal

Posted Jul 8, 2014
Pros: The facility is well maintained and has just the right touch of history and modernity. The staff is outstanding.
Location: Festival International de Jazz de Montreal in late June is a must see experience. Old Port is a great place to start exploring Montreal.
Another excellent experience at the Auberge du Vieux-Port hotel! 3rd time back and this was just as nice as our first visit. Highly recommend.

Wonderful experience

Posted Jul 6, 2014
Pros: Everthing--totally
Cons: the speed of the elevator--but this was very, very minor
Location: Right in the heart of Vieux Montreal--perfectly placed for view, access to the Metro (subway), Jazz Festival activities, and exceptional restaurants
The staff were exceptional--very helpful, knowledgeable about all things Montreal and eager to please. The room was amazing--gracious high ceilings, old-world atmosphere with all the modern conveniences. The rooftop experience with the fireworks display overlooking the river was absolutely awesome.

Great location

Posted Jul 2, 2014
Beautiful and comfortable rooms and right in old Montreal, a small area that is full of street cafes, bars and museums. A great place to stay and about a 10 minute walk to the Metro to get to the rest of the city. The only downside was the kitchen wasn't up to the standard of the rest of the place.

Best Location

Posted Jul 2, 2014
Pros: Location, rustic interior of room, breakfast. Terrace.
Cons: Bed was too soft. Not a comfortable sleep. Rm 305.
Location: Cirque du soliel, scandinavian spa, port
Spent a night here for our anniversary. Great location right across the street from the port, and the cirque du solie which we went to. Had a City view room which was nice since there was a violinist playing below our room most of the evening. Terrace has a great view. Room was nice and large, we had a big jetted tub. Breakfast was delicious. Only downside was the bed was way too soft for us.
