“Downtown hotel right of St. Catherine's street”
This hotel is located in downtown Montreal and is close to the train station & St. Catherine's street (a central hub for bars & restaurants), but also close to topless bars and a some skeevy downtown establishments. The price isn't bad and the hotel appears to be recently refurbished so if you only need to be downtown for a night a two - this is a good choice. For a longer stay, avoid this place and choose a nicer downtown hotel.
“Mixed feeling”
We were in room 701 and all this review is strictly related to this room. I have mixed feeling as it is a suite with Two communicating rooms (so very convenient) in a very big appartment. BUT A/C did not work correctly ; the room is extremely noisy (from the elevator mechanics ?). SO do not choose this if you think that it is better than 2 individual rooms.
“Montreal downtown”
Large room with cool air conditioning and in a busy part of downtown, and close to the train station. Little bit noisy, but exuberant tourists who did not care about other people staying in the hotel. Great restaurant adjacent with fine food and excellent service. Second visit and will go back because of the location and service.
“Would stay again!”
I stayed at the Best Western for a conference and its location was perfect! Right off of Rue St. Catherine with great shopping and less than a block from Montreal's best panini. The hotel was very clean and was a great size for me. Very friendly and helpful staff, who were always willing to lend advice on where to eat and the best way to get around.
“Quite nice”
Overall satisfied for what I paid. Nice room great location
“Montreal in the snow”
Ideally located only four blocks from the railway station, but in the snow and ice of winter and if using the train then another hotel would be better, especially with baggage. Hotel was quiet. Elevator a little slow. Breakfast in the restaurant was efficient and good quality. Would stay again.
“Can't Beat The Location!”
Overall, we enjoyed our stay at the Hotel Europa! You can easily get to the hotel from Trudeau airport via the 747 Express bus. The hotel is located just one block away from Rue St. Catherine, which has lots of shops and eateries. The Bell Centre is also just a short walk away if you are attending an event there. The lobby is a bit dated, but was clean and welcoming. The elevators are extremely small, and can only hold about 3-4 people comfortably. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful. Our guest room (a standard Queen) was somewhat small, but comfortable. Free wi-fi was available throughout the hotel, with strong signals on the upper floors. The on-site restaurant, Chez Cora, is a fantastic (and low cost) breakfast/lunch spot with healthy choices that will please all diners. If I return to Montreal again in the future, I would definitely stay here again!
“Kazu”
Location is very good. But room is a little small.
“Excellent choice”
great location, clean, but don't forget the $20/day extra for parking!!
“"Unexpectedly Impressed"”
Booked a 6 night stay to explore Montreal for the first time. Selected hotel based on lowest price and Expedia site photos. While the hotel entrance and lobby feature a bizarre, dated aquatic/nautical theme with fountains, the rooms seem to be recently renovated and very modern/clean. Best surprise was the close proximity to Rue St Catherine and many excellent and affordable restaurants. Also on St Catherine I was able to find pharmacy, grocery store and shop to buy NY Times all within 10 minute walk from hotel.
